We went here for lunch for the first time. It’s a small, local business which is my favorite kind to support. It’s fairly big inside with old school Italian American decor. There are pool tables, a large jukebox, and a video game in the back room leading to the restrooms. We got the garlic rolls and fried pickles to start. Overall the garlic rolls were good but we would prefer more garlic oil as they were a bit dry. The pickles were perfectly crunchy with a slight kick. The ranch they serve also has a slight kick to it which was a nice surprise. We also ordered a calzone and 2 mini pizzas which was more than enough food for us (in fact I couldn’t finish my pizza). The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The dough was yeasty and soft so I wouldn’t go expecting a New York style pizza with a crispy crust. Not to say there wasn’t any at all but it was more of a soft, yeasty dough. It wasn’t over-priced either. The staff was super friendly and checked on us regularly. We will definitely be back.

I recently tried this location and was left a bit dissatisfied and disappointed. The pizza was probably one of the worst I’ve had. When I picked up the first slice all the cheese and toppings slid right off. The marinara was so watery it made the pizza doe soggy. Needless to say I did not finish the pizza. Thankfully i ordered the mini pizza so I only wasted $7 bucks. The chicken wings were ok kinda hard to mess those up. The garlic cheese bread was a slice of bread with cheese and garlic nothing to rave about.

Service was good. The staff was friendly the food didn’t take too long to come out maybe 15-20 min. The location is an older establishment which gives you that hole in the wall feeling which are normally great spots to eat.

Unfortunately this place fell short on the number 1 thing that should be great in their location the pizza

We just arrived in Labelle today and was looking forward to a good pizza so we went here where they used to be super. No flavor, not cooked completely. Our server was non attentive, we had to as 2 different servers for beverage refills and we were going to have another beer but no one was around. Ok there were 2 other couples besides us so don’t give me the busy crap. They took care of the carry out before people inside. Couple behind us got the wrong order and she was pissed. How difficult is it to bring out a pizza, plates, utensils and cold beer Wasn’t cheap either

Small town pizza, definitely better than the chains. I wish the hours were a little different, but I’m sure there’s a reason as to why they have the short hours. Definitely recommended by the locals. They load the pizza and not afraid to give you the toppings

Sal-Cal is likely the only real hometown pizza establishment to be found in LaBelle, but it is just one of the five or six different options for pizza in a town whose restaurant options are basically pizza, fast food, quick-serve Chinese, or taqueria.

Prices run a bit high, and they don’t run deals to compete with the chains they compete with, but they don’t really need to. Their quality is generally solid, and they brag about the freshness of their toppings and dough for good reason, although whether that is grounds for declaring superiority is questionable because the majority use ingredients that are likely just as fresh.

In the end, their taste is decidedly their own. They go for balance of toppings rather than overwhelming quantity. They stand on their quality for their prices unapologetically.

Their garlic rolls are a sure bet, and their pizzas have a dough with a very clean flavor and chewy texture. You’ll only find hand-tossed, but they do it well. They also offer a variety of pasta and oven-baked sandwiches.

The restaurant doesn’t really stand on appearances. It looks sort of dated externally and internally, but that’s part of its charm. It’s the old town pizzeria standing its ground against bigger competitors with deeper pocketbooks.

For the money, they might not be the best deal for your dollar, but for quality pizzeria food in LaBelle, they’re probably your best bet.

Maybe we went to this place on an off night but we most likely will not be returning.
Strike number one…We sat in the pool room because the seats had nicer cushions on them and being senior citizens we appreciated the softer seats. It was also much warmer in the pool room. There were three girls in there and they decided to play the jukebox which is not a problem as we like music. One of the girls decided to pull the jukebox away from the wall and crank the music up very loud. When our server came to our table, she didn’t bring menus, but asked us what we would like to drink. We asked if she could turn volume back down on the jukebox as it was extremely loud. She turned it back down and no sooner had she left the room, the girls cranked it up very high again.
When our server brought our drinks she then asked if we needed menus to which we replied, yes. A moment later our server brought the menus. My husband and I could not even talk across the table because the jukebox was so loud so that’s when we got up to move to the other side. The bench seats were hard and uncomfortable and it was a lot colder in the front room. We debated leaving. Non the less, we went ahead and ordered a pizza because we were so hungry.
When our pizza was served the bottom was scorched. We had driven 25 minutes to get to the restaurant and waited another 35 minutes for our pizza. We were both very hungry so we ate some. I scraped the toppings off of one piece and ate the toppings only. My husband, bless his heart, didn’t mind the scorched Pizza. I couldn’t eat it. We had ordered an extra large in anticipation of having leftovers to warm up. But there’s no way in the world you can warm up a scorched Pizza without making it worse. When the server came back by the asked how everything was I showed her the bottom of the pizza and she just made an excuse if they have to use the bottom oven tonight. STRIKE TWO! I guess she thought that was supposed to excuse them serving scorched Pizza to customers? I only had a little bit of iced tea left and so she took my cup to fill it up. She didn’t put any more tea in it! She filled it up with ice only, to the point that I can barely get my straw down through it. I didn’t understand that at all. STRIKE 3!!
When she brought the bill she did say that she took half off the price of the pizza since it was scorched.
Such a disappointment! It’s just very poorly ran. Our server was very friendly but customer service was horrible.
