The couple times we’ve been here, it doesn’t get busy at all. Pretty slow. Service was superb though. We liked everything we tried except the wontons. There barely was any filling. Not sure if that’s how they just make their wontons but we didn’t like that much.

We went with a group of 10 of us friends and neighbors and had the best time ever! All of the staff was very friendly. The food was wonderful, very well priced. And you get a huge portion of everything you order. But the best part of our meal was our chef, KO. We have been to many different hibachi restaurants over the years and had many different chefs, and he was by far top-notch number one of all of them. His personality was so wonderful. He made us laugh the whole time. He was just a warm and welcoming person as well. If you go to Umi, do yourself a favor and request KO for your chef.

The service was great. The food was delicious! I would definitely come back. The drinks were strong as well. Everything on the menu we got was delicious! I usually don’t eat hibachi because they usually disappoint me. But this hibachi was very good. I’ll come back here again for hibachi as well!

This was a fun place to be with friends. Everyone was very friendly and service was good. There were several servers going about and many people were helping to bus the tables so Service was done in a swift and clean manner. The food was fresh. It was so good when I was hungry. The drinks selection was decent as well. For whatever flavor you want, they got. We had a birthday and they came out to sing. The birthday girl also got her own dessert with a flare so that was pretty cool.

This sushi hibachi spot has its highs and lows:

Food: The fresh oysters are a standout, and I’ll definitely be back for them. The oyster combinations and sauces are creative, maintaining both flavor and freshness. The baked mussels are superb, while the salmon toro is well-balanced and melts in your mouth. Calamari is decent but a bit oily. The hibachi, particularly the steak and noodles, didn’t impress me; they were a bit dry and bland, but at least there’s sauce on the side. The Volcano Rolls look good but don’t taste as good as they look.

Staff: Quick, super friendly, and very helpful, ensuring a positive experience.

Ambiance: The place is spacious but a tad dark for my liking. I prefer more light. Opting for a booth by the window offers better views and light. Great for big groups.

I’ll be back for the oysters, baked mussels, and salmon toro, and I plan to explore different rolls and sashimi, considering their reputation. Just a heads up, there’s a 3.99% surcharge for credit card payments.

2024 update: everything below is still true, but would like to add that they have a great patio space and the service was simply amazing. Friendly and attentive and seemingly genuine, that was a nice touch!

All day happy hour on Sunday is always a plus in my book. The portions seem the same size as any other day, so that’s also wonderful! The HH menu has lots of rolls, apps, and various sushi eats. The scallop crudo, while not on the HH menu, was really tasty! Rolls were good, rice wasn’t overly packed, good ratio of filling and toppers to the rice.

Overall pleasant experience and will go back. We went at 3pm on a Sunday so it wasn’t super busy.

This place is a gem, located in the heart of Blaine. Each visit, I had a great experience and the food never fails to please and satisfy.

The first time I visited this location, I was very pleasantly surprised by their decor, especially in their outdoor patio. It’s the perfect place to grab a nice dinner and drinks with your friends. As I walked in, I was greeted right away by the host, and everyone made me feel welcome during my visit. The servers stopped by often to make sure we had everything we needed and made sure our experience was the best that it could be.

I’ve tried many dishes at this restaurant, and I have yet to find one that I dislike! Each dish is so fresh with such complex flavors, and each bite is heaven on your tongue. I definitely have to point out their fresh wasabi sauce that they put on their Scallop Crudo. It gives a little kick as it hits your sinuses and pairs so well with the scallops. The oysters are also amazing. They are extremely sweet and the ponzu sauce elevates it to another level. I can’t get enough of them! I believe they come in once a week on Mondays, so get them while they’re fresh and available! I would recommend the baked mussels as an appetizer, because they are BOMB. Each bite is creamy and succulent, and it leaves you craving for more. Another dish I really enjoyed was their Shrimp Fried Rice. Every spoonful is filled with buttery, fragrant rice, and it is such a delight to eat.

I haven’t gotten a chance to try the hibachi yet, but it looks like so much fun. Their chefs look like they really enjoy what they do, which makes the experience so much better for the customer. When they are performing, their face lights up every time they see the customer smile. You get a meal and a show, and I can’t wait to experience this!

I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant, other than it’s located so far from me! It isn’t difficult to see that the owners take pride in their restaurant, and pour their love into creating the gorgeous dishes and ensuring all customers have a high quality experience each visit.

House green tea was delicious. Bug in the salad. Ginger dressing tastes expired/off. The bug was a small nat (located on chopstick paper). Miso soup was ok, triple threat was spicy but bland (could only taste heat), boston roll tastes like a mayo sandwich, smoke samon and avocado was tasty Overall, the meal has hardy and filled us up, but the experience was unfortunate. This restaurant seems like a great place to eat. Hopefully, other people will have a better experience. I didn’t ask for a discount or something for free. the price came to $ 44.26. Wife has celiacs, and the waiter was amazing and attentive to her allergie.

It was our first time there, we went on a Sunday night and got seated immediately. Our server was great! He gave my husband an extra miso soup even though what he ordered didn’t come with it. Beef fried rice was not too bad, I liked the rice but not the beef. Beef was kinda dry. Sushi was good and came out and tasted fresh. If you just want to go and grab a bite this is a good place to go with a friend.
