THIS PLACE HARASSES YOU TO PAY 20% MINIMUM FOR MEDIOCRE FOOD BASIC SERVICE!

First thing, it smelled like cigarettes when you first come in and it looks really dingy and old inside but usually the foods always good at these type of places. WRONG! Food was just okay and super duper overpriced for what it is. Service was basic as we didn’t really ask for much so all the waitress did was bring our drinks, banchan and food. She grilled some of meats as they should bc it’s a Korean bbq spot! Then comes the check which was extremely overpriced for lunch for 4 people. We paid and tipped in cash, waitress comes back questioning the tip saying the tip should be 20% minimum. IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE A SIGN STATING THAT! It did not state that on the receipt and we felt pressured to change it bc she was getting loud and causing a scene while hovering over us and watching us to change it. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN! It’s not worth the price and embarrassment. There are so many other Korean bbq places in the area that are just as good if not better and you won’t get harassed! No one should ever feel pressured to pay a specific amount of tip as it is optional! To the waitress working here, be mindful of people’s situation as you do not know what people are going through and that this could’ve been a splurge for certain people to go out to eat. For you to berate and demand customers for more tip was extremely disrespectful and you should be ashamed of yourself! This restaurant will definitely lose business because of HER actions, she knows who she is and I hope she reads this as this is not the first review of her demanding more tip from customers!

Definitely one of the best Korean food. Recommend steamed dumpling and gochu scallion pancake. Meat portions are HUGE including jaeyook kimchi. SO much bulgogi, it’s like beef inflation never happened. They also greet everyone with enthusiasm!

Edit: My 2.5 year old had bad diarrhea which induced a fever after eating the bulgogi. We are certain it was the beef.

I visited this Korean restaurant many times many many years ago. I had a very good impression of this restaurant. Due to the location, I visited it less later. I like their Korean appetizer dishes. Apparently, it ranks top one or two in my Korean restaurant list. The seafood pancake is the best I’ve ever had. Spicy pork was OK but a little bit light. I also tried their Chirashi… Um…. it’s only OK for me. The service was prompt and good…. I’ll try Korean BBQ next time…..

There are many Korean restaurants in Edison, but this one is the best we have visited so far. Nothing fancy. Just good food and homie vibe. First of all, they serve both BBQ and soup/rice bowl dishes, plus quality sushi and special rolls. Whatever your group may want, they have it all. Second, they are probably the only Korean restaurant in town not stingy about serving complimentary side dishes. Look at the photo I took – they actually try for variety. The eggplant cold dish was so good and unusual! They don’t charge extra $0.5 for take out boxes, nor would they ask you for cash or cash for tips. Third, their waiters and waitresses actually look happy and want to serve you. We have been here for both BBQ and soup dinner. The meat quality was excellent. They are BYOB and there is a liquor store right next door. Most people eating here are Koreans, not too many non-Korean people. Last but not the least, look at the portion they serve, and look at the price they charge. My Sul Lung Tang was only $14.95. The only downside is how smoky the restaurant gets as people come in big groups for Korean BBQ. Leave your jacket in the car, and be prepared for your outfits smell like Korean BBQ for the next few days.

I love their seafood pajeon, one of the best I had. Super fluffy and crispy. Also has the best side dishes of all the Korean places I’ve been to. Solid selection of core Korean dishes as well

We here for Dinner with family, the Choices were good, I loved the hot and sour shrimp, also we had the option of BYOB
We took the barbecue your own meat option,
I loved that we cooked everything on coal
Our server helped us a lot with the cooking , the pork was brought to us cooked .
We had a nice time, friendly staff , ample of parking and many options to choose from the menu . Kids didn’t enjoy the shrimp Sinai so much , the tofu soup was a bit sour so that too wasn’t so enjoyable by them . On the whole we had a good experience.

$45 for one piece of regular kalbi is already hard to justify, especially when the food was just okay.

What made the experience worse was the service. The waitress confronted us about the tip and essentially pressured us into increasing it. We were made to run our card again to leave more. That felt incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate. Tips are voluntary, guests should never feel bullied into paying more.

Very disappointing experience overall.

Good portions and quality. Service is just ok. Best side dishes I’ve had in NJ so far. Great value Lunch menu. Food from Regular/dinner menu is a bit higher price than other Korean restaurants but good quality makes up for the higher price.

TLDR: Ok place to try out, but if you don’t go you’re not missing much.

Overall I would say that this restaurant is average. I came here with my family and we ordered a variety of dishes (jop chae, bibimbop, etc.). The food didn’t blow us out of the water nor was it bad in any way shape or form. Although the prices were far higher than comparable Korean restaurants we’ve been to. Not sure why they charge so much considering their food is adequate at best.

Service was decent and the waiters were mostly pleasant. I would say if you’re used to American-style service you’ll probably be in for a little shock. The waiters don’t hover around you constantly checking in, which is good in that they aren’t trying to rush you out. However, when it’s time to go you’ll likely have to grab their attention to get the check.

The restaurant is very clean and a decent size. Nice place to try out but likely will not be back anytime soon.
