I recently took a valued client to Basilico in Coral Gables for a business lunch, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish, easily deserving of five stars. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a productive conversation over exceptional Italian cuisine.
We started with the appetizers and drinks. I enjoyed the carrot soup, which was velvety smooth with a subtle sweetness that highlighted fresh ingredients, and my client opted for the lunch salad, a crisp mix of greens that set a light, refreshing tone. For beverages, I had the Italian coke, while my client chose the homemade lemonade. Non alcoholic beverages for lunch but I plan to be back for dinner and drinks soon!
For the mains, my client raved about the lunch pasta with scallops, tender and perfectly cooked in a rich sauce that balanced palette. I went for the special which was the dorada fish with linguine agliolio, which was perfection with fish that melted in the mouth. Both entrees were generous portions!
To wrap up, we indulged in coffees and dessert. I sipped on a cortadito, and my client had the American coffee, brewed fresh. We shared the tiramisu, which was the highlight, ending the lunch on a sweet note.
Throughout, the service from our server Misael was outstanding, attentive, with a keen eye for details like suggesting pairings that elevated the experience. The attention to detail extended to the presentation of each dish, from the garnishes to the timing, making us feel truly pampered.
Basilico nailed the balance of quality, value (especially with the complimentary soup and salad), and ambiance. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it for any occasion!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a special date night at Basilico Ristorante of Coral Gables. The restaurant is beautiful and the wait staff were exceptional. Best of all was the food! We loved every dish we got— we shared burrata to start, I enjoyed the gnocchi, my husband enjoyed the tricolore trenette, and we shared the apple strudel for dessert. Everything was divine and we can’t wait to come back!

I took my wife here for her birthday dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The service was warm and friendly, and the food was absolutely exceptional. I had a special lobster dish which was an incredible experience, both in taste and presentation. I also had the best apple pastry I’ve ever tasted for dessert. Can describe it in one word “AMAZING”! Greeted by Rodrigo and although it was our first time at Basilico, we were treated like VIPs. My husband had the Polpo alla Josper that was delicious followed by the Ossobucco…the best in Miami! I had the Frutti di Mare which was light but tasty. Definitely returning soon!

I’m not sure how anyone could rate this restaurant any lower than 5! Our group of four received incredible service, each of our meals was beyond superb, and they were absolutely accommodating in every way. We are from across the country, but I’d go back to Coral Gables just to eat here again.
