This was my initial visit. The service was exceptional, and the seafood dishes were remarkably fresh and flavorful, entirely devoid of any undesirable odor, indicating the use of high-quality ingredients. However, upon entering the establishment, I noticed a distinct aroma reminiscent of a restroom, which I surmise may be attributed to the use of strong cleaning agents, possibly to counteract any potential fish odors.. I would try this place again and highly recommend to people who love Mexican seafood dishes.

We visited Mariscos La Playita in Concord on a Sunday. The service was good, very attentive and friendly staff. There was live mariachi music, which gave the place a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. That said, if you’re not used to loud environments, you might prefer sitting toward the back of the restaurant, where it’s much quieter.
As for the food, it was just okay. We ordered the shrimp a la Karky (I believe that was the name), and they were pretty watery. They might work better with a drier preparation, maybe something closer to shrimp a la piedra. We also had a shrimp and octopus cocktail, and it literally had just four shrimp in it—not what you’d expect. The tostada with shrimp and octopus was also a letdown. The octopus was overcooked, rubbery, and not properly cleaned.
Honestly, it felt like whoever is in charge of the kitchen might not have much experience with seafood dishes. The quality of the food was quite poor overall.
On the bright side, the atmosphere was lively, there’s plenty of parking. So while the ambiance and service were solid, the food definitely needs improvement, especially if they’re aiming to serve authentic, well-prepared seafood.

I thought the food was amazing! Ordered the stuffed piña today and the molcajete with a lil bit of everything. Been here twice and have not been disappointed with the food. The staff has also been king 🙂 and on Wednesdays they have Mariachis. FYI I’m Mexican

Excellent mariscos! We got a cóctel de camarón y pulpo and camarones mixto. Coctel was delicious with hearty shrimp and well cooked pulpo. El mixto had three types of camarones aguachiles and man those flavors and chiles had my mouth watering. The ambiance of the place fits where they’re from well and feels really authentic and close to home. The staff are really friendly, their smiles make you feel comfortable there ngl they were chill and welcoming. Overall, high approval!

The food was amazing! Great service too. We chose La Playita specifically because it was Cinco de Mayo.
It’s a family restaurant but the were small children claiming up the booths and jumping on them and neither the staff (management) nor the parents were doing anything about it.
