Lovely meals and atmosphere. Interesting population – 50 locals : 50 Korean tourists who have seen the video of this place from popular YouTuber.

Lamb shoulder was the creme de la creme. Very tender and juicy with lovely sauce. Salad is famous here but i wouldnt call it authentic french salad. It has a bit more vibe of Vietnamese refreshing salad with fish sauce but very yummy as entree.

Overall nice atmosphere. Would love to visit again and try different dishes for my next visit.

One thing to note: Serving pace can be slow as only one waitress (wife of chef) is serving but she does try her best to accommodate.

The food was absolute perfection. My husband and I savored every bite and truly appreciated the kind, welcoming, and attentive service. I especially loved the steak I ordered—the peppers were excellent, and the sauce and vegetables complemented the dish beautifully. The pumpkin soup was divine.

My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his meal. We frequently dine at Michelin-starred restaurants and have been wowed many times before, and this was certainly one of those experiences.

Celebrated life here recently. The space is nice and the menu is small but extremely high quality. The beef with peppercorn was superb and the waitress was knowledgeable with the wine list and recommended a great natural wine. My understanding is that they work with farmers/ suppliers directly and that attention to quality ingredients can certainly be tasted across the 5 dishes we tried.
The only feedback I have is that the service, although very friendly, can be a bit slow. Also would have appreciated a cutlery change between the entree and main, but that’s just a small detail and not everyone’s preference.
I would definitely be back for the food and hospitality.

Warning “A BULLET from your food and impolite waitress”

I am writing this review with considerable disappointment, especially as my first visit to this restaurant last week was pleasant that I decided to return. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was deeply troubling and frankly, unacceptable.

I ordered the “Wild Hunting Duck,” which was listed on the menu without any additional warning. While eating, I bit down on something incredibly hard: a piece of lead shot from a shotgun BULLET. The shock and the potential danger of breaking a tooth or worse is something no diner should have to experience.

What truly ruined the evening, however, was the shockingly unprofessional and dismissive attitude of the waitress. When I discreetly and politely brought the LEAD BULLET to her attention, her response was not one of concern or apology. Instead, she claimed this was perfectly normal for a wild duck dish in France, implying that as a foreigner, I was simply ignorant. No prior warning about this potential hazard was given when I ordered, which is a serious oversight in customer safety.

The humiliation did not stop there. A few moments later, when the Israeli diners at the adjacent table asked for their bill, the same waitress turned to them and joked, “You didn’t find a bullet in yours, did you?” while looking in my direction. To be openly mocked after raising a legitimate safety concern is beyond unprofessional; it is insulting and deeply disrespectful.

To their credit, they did remove the cost of the duck dish from our bill. However, the gesture felt hollow as my dinner was effectively ruined. I stopped eating my meal out of concern and appetite loss, meaning I left the restaurant without having had a proper dinner. We ended up paying €125 for the rest of our order and had to carry out our unfinished bottle of wine.

A restaurant’s responsibility extends beyond the food it serves; it includes ensuring a safe dining environment and treating customers with basic dignity. While finding a pellet in a game dish might be a possibility, the complete lack of a warning and the subsequent contempt and ridicule from the staff are inexcusable.

After a quite good first impression last week, I am now left with a very bitter taste. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, particularly tourists who may be subjected to the same dangerous food and disrespectful treatment.

Our experience at dinner was excellent, in fact I even had lunch the same day to sample the lunch menu and both were extremely good with a stand out mention for the fresh herbs used in the salad; an extraordinary combination that really delivered a new TWIST on traditional French cuisine. I discussed this with the chef and it was very excited to get the feedback as I think it is a signature part of his cuisine. Exceptional service also from his wife and the other brigade members.

We will definitely be back definitely worth a detour!

Le MaZenay is a beautiful quaint restaurant serving farm to table French cuisine. The menu is full of incredible classic French dishes and I’d recommend ordering something you haven’t ever tried before if you can. Each dish was beautifully plated, full of fresh vegetables and incredible meat.

We got so lucky finding this little gem. Reservation is a must. The owners are obviously passionate about food and serving. My Scotish grouse with red wine sauce and grilled eggplants was probably the best meal of my 10day trip in France. The wine list was also vast and very good.
