Everything we ordered was amazing. I had the Linguine with sea urchin and bottarga, and it was absolutely delicious. The pasta itself is very unique and clearly house-made. The sea urchin was incredibly fresh, and the sauce had a creamy richness without being overly heavy. My friend ordered the Maccheroncini Grano Arso with duck confit, peas & pea shoots, which had a beautiful nutty flavor from the burnt wheat pasta. We also tried the Rigatoni alla Carbonara — the sauce was very rich and flavorful, and the bacon worked more as a perfect accent rather than overpowering the dish. The pasta quality here really stands out.

Absolutely phenomenal. I’ve been wanting to try Nonna Dora since a vineyard visit in Tuscany a few years ago, where we learned that the same family who owned this beautiful vineyard had an Italian restaurant in NYC!! I immediately made a mental note to visit once I was back in NYC. This restaurant exceeded every expectation. From the warm welcome Astrid, the Dora’s daughter-in-law, to the incredibly knowledgeable and attentive service by our waiter Francisco who is knowledgeable from everything on the food menu to the extensive wine list, the experience was exceptional from start to finish.
We went à la carte and tried all the vegetarian pastas, one sausage dish, and four desserts—every single bite was outstanding. The wine pairing suggested by Francisco was perfection and tied everything together beautifully.
Authentic, soulful, and deeply rooted in family tradition. Worth the wait and then some. Can’t recommend enough. ✨

We loved the atmosphere. There were so many wait staff, and they never stopped moving and taking care of us. The pasta was amazing and drinks as well! Next time, we will order more food! The plates were incredible (pistachio pesto ravioli!), but I could have eaten MORE! So good!

Nonna Dora’s is an absolute gem in Kips Bay on 30th and Second. From the moment we walked in, the experience was wonderful. The hostess — who I believe is also the daughter-in-law of the owner — was so lovely and welcoming. Our waiter, Francisco, was exceptional. His recommendations were perfect, and his professionalism and friendly manner truly elevated our evening.
The food was outstanding — incredibly fresh, flavorful, and simply amazing. It was an all-around perfect dining experience. I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend it!

My husband and I hosted a welcome event at Nonna Dora’s prior to our son’s wedding.The buffet included a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Despite construction outside, the restaurant was set up beautifully. The waitstaff and bartenders were fantastic. Platters of food were replenished and drinks were served quickly, despite being slammed as everyone seemed to arrive at once. The food was delicious and our guests had a wonderful time. Thank you for making the evening so memorable!

When we arrived on a Monday night I realised I had made the reservation for the following week. The staff were really accommodating and were able to find us a table (even though it was pretty busy given the day of the week).
My friend and I shared two starters; calamari and a focaccia and they were ok. For mains we also shared pastas; the pappardelle with boar ragu and the lobster tonnarelli. The best dish was the tonnarelli where the lobster sauce really elevated the dish. The boar dish was ok but I have had far better versions elsewhere.
Service was a little slow with taking orders, to the extent where we were going to order desserts but after a 15 minute wait or so decided to just grab the bill. Including a glass of wine each the bill came to c$85 a person, which I felt was expensive for the quality of food we had. I had been so excited to visit Non a Dora’s but unfortunately I don’t think I will be visiting again.

This was an incredible meal. We sat at the bar and Britt took such great care of us. We got the ragu, carbonara, and pistachio pesto ravioli. All of them were excellent and it was hard to pick a favorite, but the ravioli may technically have to win. We’ve been saving this place for a special occasion and we’re so glad we did — the staff went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated. We’ll definitely be back soon!

An absolutely perfect meal. We ordered the burrata, calamari, lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs and everything was delicious. My husband and I both ordered mocktails, and they were the best I’ve ever had. We had Ahmed as our server and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and enjoy our meal.
