I absolutely LOVE 5guys and this review is not a bash on the company as a whole. I purchased burgers and fries from the Wilmington Pike centerville Ohio store at the end of January. I almost never take out. But my wife was a little sick and was craving the fries. I picked up and took home and the fries were so salty they were inedible. I was so disappointed that I contacted them through the app. I got a call the same day and was told that they would send me a compensation card in the mail that day. 14 days later nothing. I reached out by phone this time and was told I would get a gift card sent to my email…. nothing. I also got a email asking to verify my home address and they had it wrong. Was told that they would mail something out that day. NOTHING. I hate poor customer relations. I have enjoyed 5guys since the 1987 Columbia Pk. Arlington VA days. Disappointed.

I’m really disappointed with how Five Guys handled a genuinely scary situation last night.

My cousin and I were driving on the highway when a severe storm hit and a tornado warning went off on our phones telling us to take shelter immediately. A tornado had been sighted nearby, and according to the radar we were driving straight into it. We got off the highway as fast as we could and the first open place we saw was this Five Guys.

We ran inside while tornado sirens were actively going off and the storm was getting worse. We were shaken and just looking for somewhere safe to wait it out. When we explained the situation, the girl at the register simply said, “Well, we close in seven minutes so… yeah, you should probably go to Target down the street, they’re open later and have less windows.” While she may have had a point about the windows, the way it was said felt dismissive—like we were being pushed out rather than helped during an emergency. The rest of the staff just stared at us silently, which made an already stressful situation even more uncomfortable.

We had to run back outside during active sirens and heavy winds and rush to Target. Ironically, Target was also closing within minutes—but they immediately welcomed us into their storm shelter without hesitation. No one acted annoyed. They understood that safety comes first.

I understand that closing time usually means customers need to leave. But when there’s an active tornado warning and sirens are going off, basic human safety should matter more than the clock. Thankfully, no tornado ended up touching down, but it was terrifying in the moment—and Five Guys showed a serious lack of compassion and judgment.

I hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.

The entire restaurant was filthy. Not one clean table and 1 other couple sitting in and eating. No one bothered to take a moment to clean anything! I could see if they were busy but they were not. I absolutely love their burgers and fries but not today. The fries were not done and my burger was luke warm at best. Not sure how this happens while you just took it off the grill. Taking a break from Five Guys and will find some place else for a good burger. Get it together!

My burger (meat) was so tiny!!! It was 1/4 the size of the bun. Bun was LOADED with ketchup and pickles to the point of being soggy. What a RIP off!! Won’t be back. The last time we were here, the food was subpar. Tables were dirty too….

So while the over taste of the food is good and it is truly fresh the price for the amount is a total rip off. Pictures is the little (small) fry. And that cost over $5. At best that is a $1.25 worth of fries. Needless to say I will never be returning. As $22 for a sandwich fry and drink if ridiculous when this is what you get

Had Five Guys today at the Centerville store on Wilmington Pike. I’d heard they now had Patty Melts on the menu so we decided to go in and give it a go. It had been a while since I’d been in a Five Guys, but its always been a treat. The store was very clean, and the attendant who helped us with ordering was really pleasant. I ordered my Patty Melt, added grilled onions and grilled green peppers, because that just sounded delish. My husband and I split a regular Cajun fry, and He got a Bacon Cheeseburger plain. Added two drinks, everything came out to about $40, which is fair for Five Guys, I mean you know this coming in.

My sandwich was so good, the cheese was extra melty, oozy and delicious and they got those onions and peppers just perfect. While it wasn’t a traditional Patty Melt, it was really darned good. I only ate half because I got full on all of those fries. We always regret getting the regular size, there is so much there! I actually have some in my bag that I took home, I swear next time, get the small, its enough for two.

My husband’s sandwich was perfect of course. He ate every last bite. The store had freestyle coke machines which I really appreciate. I love being able to get Mello Yello Zero in cherry and limeade, its the best! Thanks Five Guys for a great lunch!

I haven’t been to a Five Guys in a while. But every time I’ve gone, I’ve bought fries. The bag came loaded!
With a price of $6.26 for a regular fry, you can imagine my shock when I arrived home and found a very SMALL heavily over salted fries in my bag.
Five Guys, shame on you!
A 10lbs bag of potatoes is $6 bucks at Walmart!!
Feels like a Bait and switch.

I’ll stick with Smash burger or one of the other fast service spots. Wendy’s maybe….

It’s Five Guys, so you know what you’re getting and the food is always consistent. The employees are are very friendly and helpful but we usually order online and then get there about 5-10 minutes after the time it’s supposed to be ready, even then I have to wait. It’s not during rush hours either. I’ll get there check in then they’ll say it’s in the works. Then I’ll watch people walk in, place their orders at the counter for the same thing or even more involved orders and their food will come up first. That’s happened three separate times, I don’t think that they’re doing it intentionally, instead, I think they just might have their workflow through off to prioritize gifts on site versus guests ordering online. That’s about the only critique or constructive criticism I could give is to follow the lead of the Chipotles of the world and have a separate station and dedicated crew member to support online orders to ensure timely fulfillment. Other than that, great job leather burgers greasy delicious and consistent!
