Came here with my partner for dinner while staying locally. We shared the 6 course tasting menu and also ordered a chicken udon dish. All of it was great, really enjoyed every dish. Friendly waiter who was also helpful, nice chilled atmosphere. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend.

We visited Yukisan Restaurant as a group of six (four adults and two children) based on a friend’s recommendation and Google reviews.
First impressions: I liked how the walls look (stone and wood), but the decorations felt very old-fashioned and cheap — plastic food displays, car boot–style vases, and Christmas decorations that looked like they were from a decade ago. The phone booth, which didn’t match the décor at all, was filled with napkins and other items.
The place is not suitable for disabled people or families with small babies. There is no disabled toilet or baby changing unit. The toilets were clean but very small and extremely old-style. We visited with a baby and a six-year-old, and there was no kids’ menu available.
We booked the day before, but the baby chair was very dirty and looked like it had been taken out of a loft.
On a positive note, the waiters were very polite and professional, and the food arrived quite quickly. We ordered chicken with curry sauce, chicken with shiitake mushrooms, chicken with teriyaki sauce, beef yakiniku, and fried ramen noodles. We also had one beer, an Apletiser, and an apple juice. The total bill was £114.
The food was very tasty, but I felt it was a bit overpriced. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for families, although the food itself was decent. The restaurant would really benefit from some investment to improve its appearance.

One of the authentic Japanese restaurant in town of Plymouth, United Kingdom.
I like the presentation of their food. It’s really fresh.
We celebrated the birthday of one of our friends and we really had a good time.
During our visit, we’re lucky that we were able that we were seated at once. Usually this restaurant is always full with different nationals.
Indeed, it was a great celebration.

This is our first time to dine in here and I must say that it is the best Japanese restaurant in Plymouth. If you’re visiting Plymouth and is craving for Japanese food, this is a must have! We availed their 2 course meal for each of us. We ordered miso soup, tempura, meat bento box and sushi platter. It was all tasty and good value for money.

Atmosphere was very cozy. I don’t usually go into new places but I tried this one and it was lovely. Lady who served me was very nice. I got Katsu Curry and it came out surprisingly quickly, big portion, and it was delicious. Highly reccomend.

What a lovely restaurant! We visited for the first time last night for my daughter’s birthday. The food was fantastic and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning! Order the chips with wasabi mayo, you can thank me later!

One of my favourite places. Food is always amazing. Very well presented. Definitely worth taking advantage of the current 50% off during August. Portions are a decent size. The lunch menu is between £12 to £15 depending on if you go for 2 or 3 courses.. Or order off the main menu, but can get pricey. Our meals were off the main menu and cost around £18 each but obviously 50% off right now. I’ve ordered off the lunch menu previously and the food is amazing… Especially the starter beef salad.. Definitely worth a visit. They are currently taking reservations over the phone with alloted time slots and asked to give phone number and temperature check and hand gel upon entry

Entry level basic Japanese -style food. Menu is a little nutritionally unbalanced; for example chicken tonkatsu was a generous piece of chicken but a tiny serving of sauce and no veg pickles or sides. Agedashi dōfu starter- again over generous – came with nori seaweed but a tiny pot of dashi , no spring onions. Few sides to choose from- I don’t think it’s japanese run.

Food was so delicious, we tried Katsu Curry, sushi and tempura mixed. Portion sizes are decent, the service is good, lovely atmosphere with Japanese music playing on the background. Would have like to try eating traditionally but the upstairs Japanese room was shut.
