Reminds me of a real restaurant…people checking their phones and chit chatting behind a counter while two of them eat (that’s a weird health code violation to see at a cooking school). Not sure who is running it, but it appears unmanaged and after you wait for a lot of single steps to take place it can take like 20 minutes to get a panini and only 7 students to make it. Let’s just make sure the next wave of food employees knows how to run a food place and/or maybe look like it. Is there a teacher around?
So when I arrive there is no line, and I order a panini while holding out my debit card. There is no one at the register. The person who took my order was the only one who acknowledged me. Then a group of 15 students walks in to the register. I wait patiently still holding my debit card, while my panini gets started 6 minutes later. They continue taking people’s money. After the like looks to be dying down, I make a few attempts to pay, waving my card, trying to move closer. They keep taking the next person. Finally, I get asked if I ordered the panini being made. I say yes. Then the student says I have to order it before I can get it. Yeah, I ordered it and have been waiting to pay…can I just pay? She looks behind me and says I must stand in line. There are now 15 more people in line. Umm, huh? Ok, so something about needing a ticket for an item already being made when they could just take my card real quick between the next people, but instead I’m asked to stand in a line when I was ahead of about 25 people.
So, procedure…but certainly no customer service or critical thinking happening.
This place is prepping these people to work most places in 2025 but nowhere in 1995. Kinda just stand around and stare at each other while I remind them the sandwich is burnt then have everyone stare at me while I’m waiting to pay.
Food is cheap but damn…my rating is waaaay more directed at the school than the students. The amount of tuition and tax dollars to do subpar astounds me. What restaurant do you want to treat you this way, admins and teachers?

Emily’s has delicious food at an incredibly reasonable cost, and coupled with the idea that you are helping young people grow their skills. The students are so friendly! I always feel good spending my money here, and the food does not disappoint.

Best tasting americanos. The coffee doesn’t taste burnt at all like other cafes. Plus the workers are awesome.
