A good deal and excellent customer service in small town in Stanwood! My husband ordered the Orange Chicken and I had the Tofu Yakisoba. Both dishes were huge, hot, and delicious. As great as the food and portions were, the service was the real standout. This place offers full table service not like other typical teriyaki places where its counter-service (so I wasn’t expecting much) but the servers working went above and beyond for everyone. One of the servers even helped a customer using a wheelchair get seated safely while we were there. It’s the kind of genuine customer care I haven’t seen in a long time. This restaurant was truly a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day in Washington. Highly recommend!!

Chicken breast Teriyaki is good, but the beef was really good and tender. Portion size was ok for the price. The sauce didnt have much flavor, and was really thick. Overall it was ok but there are better options nearby.

We were visiting the area and decided to try Happy Teriyaki.
We were seated quickly but the experience was pretty much downhill from there. The 2 tables right next to us were filthy and kept that way through a large portion of our dining experience.
Someone other than our waiter took our drink order which caused an issue with our actual waiter bringing the wrong drinks.
When the food started to arrive, my food (beef bulgogi) arrive first and my wife’s tuna bowl and my side of rice took about 10 additional minutes to arrive and required us asking about the status. While we were waiting for my wife’s dinner to arrive, we watched our waiting going around and taking orders and bringing other people their food who had arrived after us. The restaurant wasn’t slammed, but the waiter was definitely not on top of their game.
The quality of the food was low to mid tier at best. The bulgogi was soupy and had almost no flavor. The tuna bowl had a lack of tuna, especially for the price and an over-abundance of cabbage.
On the menu, they advertise that they were awarded Best Japanese and Best Teriyaki restaurant in the PNW by the Seattle times, and Best Asian Restaurant by The Stanwood Camano News. I’m left baffled how either of those awards were justified, especially the one from the Seattle Times.
Overall, we were very disappointed in our visit, both with the service and the food. Next time we’re in the area, we won’t even think twice about skipping this place.

I stopped by Happy Teriyaki after work and I’m so glad I did. The food came out fast, fresh, and super tasty. The beef teriyaki had just the right amount of char, and the salad was crisp with that perfect house dressing. The staff checked in on me without being pushy, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do. Easily one of my favorite spots now.

Our first meal in the state. Teriyaki was really good. But man, the nigiri was nuts! The quality of the fish relative to the price is absurd. So much so, that this is the only restaurant we went to twice during our trip throughout Washington. Second time, ordered a whole meal of just nigiri. Restaurant was clean and food is fast. Would definitely return.

Upon entering here I caught a faint whiff of cleaning product- not the best smell but it did tell me the place was clean. But as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted, sat, offered a menu and drink. Very prompt and friendly service. I asked a couple questions, the server made a suggestion, and decided to try it. I had a combo meal with spicy chicken teriyaki and gyoza. It was really nicely presented when it came out. Really tasty! Everything was done well, even the salad. Really enjoyed eating here and will definitely be back!
