We were excited to try a local favorite and ordered to-go. When we picked up our order, portion sizes for the sides were really disappointing, especially for a $14 meal. Barely got any fries (20 fries). The chicken fried steak had amazing flavor though! All in all, we were hoping for more from this place.

We were hoping for a much better experience as the atmosphere & service were great. The food was a bit lacking. We had the build your burger, chicken fried steak and breakfast for dinner as they serve breakfast all day. The bacon on the breakfast plate appeared to have been from the morning crowd and the chicken fried steak was a bit salty. As for the burger…it was good other than the heavily toasted bun and the fries were lightly fried and not crisp. Would’ve been better if they buttered the bun before toasting but I digress. It’s reasonably priced and if you’re on a budget it’ll suffice, however the food isn’t what we expected from a nostalgic diner in a small town.

This is really a 3.5 star review but that’s not allowed by Google. Huge pancakes. I could not finish. Plus thick cut bacon, mmm. Hash browns were made fresh, not frozen. Give this place a try if you are in the area

Burger was great, onion rings could’ve been a bit more seasoned for my liking…..service was great! But the disappointment of this cobbler is too much….It was a generous portion of crust with a plain peach filling.

Have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I have had at Hot Rodz. The food is excellent, the wait staff is friendly and efficient, and the place is clean…….everything I want. My favorite entree is the chicken fried steak, but the taco salad can give it a run for its money. Biscuits and gravy in the morning can’t be beat.
Hope this hometown diner is around many years to come.
