I would give them 10 stars if possible! The goods was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and the portion size is large. I had carne asada nachos and my spouse had the carne asada burrito. Both were great and we will definitely be returning.

The chicken tacos at La Bonita are absolutely delicious. Honestly the best I’ve had within the Portland city limits. The flavors really shine through, and you can tell the food is high-quality. Nothing is greasy, and everything tastes fresh. Their customer service is amazing as well. The staff is friendly, quick, and welcoming. The homemade beans are another standout, they add such a comforting, authentic touch to the meal. Overall, La Bonita is a fantastic spot, and I highly recommend it for anyone craving great tacos.

I have been eating here since 2005 and it has been consistently great. The food is scratch made and always delicious. The folks behind the counter and warm and friendly. It is one of my fav spots in Portland. Oh-did I mention they have the best margaritas in town?

Food regularly comes soggy and cold, almost deconstructed (?) and with none of the toppings on it. Literally SO lazy and frustrating. It is not hard to make a very basic taco plate or a single taco.

Decided to stop in to La Bonita, Alberta for a quick birthday meal for our good friend Brad.

The wait was minimal and the front of the house folks were amazing.

Our Margaritas and the Paloma were on point and went perfectly with our meal.

Everything tasted amazing and there wasn’t a crumb left on our plates.

Go check them out

Amazing Mexican restaurant! Food is incredibly tasty and non-pretentious, probably at the top of any Mexican restaurant that I have visited outside of Mexico.
You enter, order at the front and wait for your food to be ready to pick it up at the same place you ordered.
Has a salsa bar and all the sauces I tried were top notch in flavor, the green is mild and give a good acidic taste, the habanero one is super tasty and kicks it up a notch on the spicy deparment.
We tried enchiladas, carne asada tacos, adobada tacos (al pastor), chicken taquitos (flautas). All were delicious and the tortillas are quite good!
All the necessary points for a great Mexican restaurant are covered at La Bonita!

This one is by far the best review anyone can possibly give I have to spread the message about this one cook her name is
(( Viva )) And I could not believe how she completely had the restaurant under complete control. She was cooking several tickets, that means alot of different meats on the grill at the same time, while also assisting the other employees by being a step ahead and deligating what she needed by calling it out and running the whole show. The restaurant was súper súper busy and she had everyone following her lead and never once did she seem overwhelmed. She was focused, and it almost seemed like I was watching something magical. She gave the performance of a top executive chef and I hope she one day has her own restaurant and someone walks in and invests in her because she was born with that level of talent.
Respect to Viva because she is rare !! 5 stars to her !!

They have seriously upped their burrito game in recent years. The flour tortillas are the best I’ve had in Portland. Meat and toppings are great too. Highly recommend!

Their food is pretty good, but if you’re getting food To Go … I suggest you always check your order before you leave … this is the second time in a row they got the order wrong …. It sucks, but that’s my recommendation … the other place on the same block is always 100% correct …. Just saying!

A mixed experience. The food was great but the service definitely left something to be desired. I’ll explain in detail what happened. I went up to the counter and ordered the nachos with beef. I asked if they had horchata but they didn’t, the lady at the register said they had jamaica juice instead. I decided not to get it. The price was $17.50, so I gave her $20 and said to keep the change. When the nachos arrived they were absolutely massive, enough for two or even three people. They were also delicious. I got close to halfway through them, knowing that I would need a to go box. I could see that they were starting to close up, so I asked the same lady for a box. Then I decided to get the jamaica juice to take with me. She grabbed a plastic cup and filled it about 2/3 with ice. I asked if she could use about half that much ice, because I was going to take it home and put it in the fridge, in which case it would be watered down later when I went to drink it. She poured out some of the ice, then filled it up with the juice and included a straw. I said that I didn’t need the straw, but she handed me the cup and the straw anyway, even though I was pretty sure she heard me. This was the first point at which I got the sense she was kind of annoyed with me. I went back to my table, where I hadn’t yet put the food into the box, and got distracted for a couple minutes finishing a message. As I was sitting there, she started sweeping up and then said to me kind of bluntly “Excuse me, we’re closed”, clearly implying that I should get out of there asap, even though I was obviously in the process of doing that, considering that I had a takeout box on the table. So I transferred the food from the plate into the box, but then I realized my hands were going to be full, carrying the box of leftovers in one hand and the large drink in the other. She was still sweeping up, right next to the door, so I asked if she would mind simply opening the door for me so I could leave. She gave me this look for half a second as if I was asking her to do something unreasonable, but then opened the door. As I left I said “Thanks, have a good night”, but she didn’t say anything back. I was left with the overall impression that she thought I was a demanding customer. Not sure which part of all this was demanding, but if someone has a problem with a customer not wanting their glass filled all the way with ice or asking for a take out box or asking to open a door that she’s standing right next to, then they probably shouldn’t be in customer service. Next time I’ll go to one of the other Mexican restaurants down the street.
