But, I came for the food, I ate the food, the food was good, and I left satisfied. I also loved that they brought out fresh made crispy bread and butter as a starter, an appetizer while we wait on the main course.
And, the wonton soup wasn’t overly salty, but warm and so was their egg drop soup. So rich and delicious.
And they of course served tea, along with little dishes to pour your duck sauce in for the little appetizers, and sides.
And the hot chili was so very delightful. Not super oily but actually chock-full of the good stuff.
As soon as my order was delivered, I called the restaurant to express my confusion and displeasure that it was delivered so early. No accountability was taken regarding the error.
Due to the fact that the order arrived prior to my intended wishes/scheduled serving time, I needed to reheat everything which compromised it’s integrity, flavor and appearance.
It was embarrassing to say the least. The most
unfortunate part of this scenerio was that shorty after eating my meal, I grew groggy, light headed and passed out. I missed most of my evening/time Christmas Eve and in the AM I awakened with a terrible headache, dry mouth and feeling tired. Apparently my instructions to not add MSG requested twice, plus the assurances by the restaurant it would not be added, were blatently ignored. I clearly stated I was allergic both on line as well as on the phone.
Lastly, the food was certainly not prepared according to how they represent it on their website. Perhaps they rushed my order in anticipation of the abundance of orders that evening. The fried rice had no vegetables/flavor, the lo mein was dark brown and greasy, the boneless
spareribs were a mangled fatty mess packed in a plastic container and the shrimp for the Sweet and Sour dish was unpalatable after attempting to reheat it.
All and all the entire experience was horrible and a complete disapointment/waste of money.
I certainly hope the restaurant makes this situation “right”. Not the Christmas experience/memory I anticipated/for which I hoped it would be.
So devastated!
The chicken dish I ordered was particularly disappointing—it was dry and noticeably overcooked, making it difficult to enjoy. In addition to the poor preparation, the meal lacked the variety of vegetables typically expected in Chinese cuisine. Aside from two small pieces of broccoli, which were served raw and unappetizing, there were no other vegetables included.
Given the price I paid, I expected a much higher standard of food. This meal felt like a complete waste of money. In hindsight, I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. Sadly, this was the worst Chinese food I have ever had, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to others.
