After a long break, of over 3 months, we came back again to enjoy the cooking of Chef Randy F. The completely renewed menu is great, with some of the dishes meriting special mentions, such as WINTER BEANS (‘nduja | pecorino crotonese) with a nice sharp twist that comes as an aftertaste, GNOCCHI SARDI (braised beef and bitter greens), TROUT CRUDO, and SPAGHETTI (hollander mussel | potato). This time around, we ordered both the fish tasting menu (Dal Mare) and meat tasting menu (Dalla Terra). It is very hard to choose one over the other, for each features different highlights and tastes, so we recommend you get both (if you are not dining solo).
The bread, already delicious, got even better, simply amazing.
5 stars, as usual.

Very small restaurant with maybe 8 tables.
Food nicely presented and good. Service of our waiter very good. I think my pasta dish would have been better…certainly for me with either chicken or bolognese sauce
Dinner for two, no dessert with 20% tip cost
115.00.

Totally unexpected very interesting restaurant. Menu is choice of land or sea price fixed for serving of five small dishes. If you choose the land, it is beef, pork, etc oriented. Sea side would be scallops, clams, etc. You can choose beyond the servings by skipping if you wish. We went with the land dishes and were very happily pleased.

Seemed like a staff of two – the chef and a server. Location has a seating for 18 which adds to the special uniqueness of this restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner!

Wonderful little restaurant on Main Street in Allentown. The place is cozy with about 10 tables.
Service was great and very hospitable. Our server went over everything on the menu pointing out where the food was sourced and the cooking methods used.
The menu is broken down into 4 catagories: starters, pasta, mains, and dessert. You are encouraged to “eat through” the menu trying at least one dish from each course. Fantastic in house bread is served alongside your meal.
We started with the tomato bread soup and the shrimp scampi. The soup was delicious with a nice spicy kick and a drissle of olive oil. The shrimp scampi was a delight as well and having been cooked sous vide the texture and flavor was spot on.
For the second (pasta) course we went with the Lumacone and the Malloreddus. All the pasta is made in house and it shows. The Lumacone is served with lobster and salt cured plum giving interesting texture and flavor to dish. The Malloreddus was served with a dandelion green pesto. It was delicious but strikingly bitter.
Our 3rd course we chose the Ocean Trout and the Weakfish. The Ocean Trout is very similar to salmon, served over creamy barley with a chestnut sauce. Flavors were good and the fish was cooked perfectly. The Weakfish is something I had never tried before. It a meatier more flavorful fish served with smoked root vegetables and a savory broth. The taste was excellent and the skin of the fish was pleasantly crispy. The root vegetables were a nice complement and not overly smokey.
For dessert we tried the Chocolate “Gianluca”. A nice chocolate torta with a sesame puree and blood orange sauce. The nutty sesame and the tangy blood orange blended nicely with the rich chocolate tart.

I greatly enjoyed my experience and I will be back soon to try more items from their rotating menu!

We came here recently on the recommendation of a chef friend of ours. Osteria Radici is INCREDIBLE!!

Apps of crudo, crespelle and cool mussels were phenomenal! The star of the show was chef’s homemade pastas. Our two were lumacone and crestedegallo. Both perfectly al dente and both out of this world delicious.

Our mains of porgy and duck were both perfectly cooked and so delicious. At this point we were so stuffed…but we had to try dessert. The olive oil semifreddo was the perfect finish to an amazing dinner.

Service was spot on and the entire experience was top notch! Our dinner was easily one of the top five meals of the year. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this brilliant restaurant!

I rarely write reviews, but this one worth writing. Truly an urban, high-end experience in a quant town that is reasonably priced. We had a party of four and purposefully ordered different dishes to experience the restaurant to its fullest. Our impression as a group, a lot of thought was put into each dish and all well executed and delicious. The serving sizes were appropriate for the richness of the flavors. I will admit the pastas were our bias and the bread a pleasant surprise. They were all made in house. The atmosphere was pleasant. We left greatly satisfied with our meal. I wish this restaurant much success and definitely a place on our places to return list.

Welcome to Allentown, Osteria Radici!!! A fantastic addition to Allentown! Fine dining without having to make the hike to a big city! From the ambiance, to the staff, to each meal, everything was fantastic! I love that the portions are just right, not leaving you over stuffed or hungry when finished. Simple yet eclectic!

There were groans from some around here that there would be “another Italian restaurant” in town, but trust me when I say, not a problem! I love that each Italian restaurant in town is different and that we now have another option to add to the mix creating variety!

We each started with appetizers, my husband had the pork sausage and I the salad followed by our entrees, Swordfish and Oxtail. My husband would eat fish for all three meals a day if he could. His review was that it was “the most perfectly cooked and flavored piece of swordfish he’s had.” I am not a fan of swordfish, but took a bite to say I tried it, it was absolutely fantastic, I loved the side of spicy cabbage. The oxtail was unbelievable! Very tender fused with a sweet flavor over homemade pasta that was extremely light and cooked to perfection.

The service was friendly, energetic, helpful and knowledgeable in answering our questions about items on the menu that we weren’t familiar with. The menu is small, but I personally hate when there are too many items to choose from. I love that there will be specials and changes made every couple of weeks!

There was only one other table open while we were there with more people coming in as we left. It was delightful and a nice change to our usual dinners, we’re looking forward to our next visit!

Loved the simple yet warm changes made to the decor, very inviting!

We give Osteria Radici two thumbs up!

This small storefront hides one of the top meals in NJ. I drove 45 minutes to get here and it was well worth it. The restaurant is small, only about 24 seats. From the moment we walked in, the experience was 5 star. We were greeted immediately and our table was ready. The hostess/owner was great. She clearly understood the menu (her husband is chef), was attentive, and made dinner great. Our waitress was very pleasant and always attentive.
The food, of course, was the star. The menu has three courses, each a reasonable size to enjoy, but not feel too full by the end of the meal. I would recommend ordering appetizer, pasta, main course and sharing dessert. It was also BYO, always a plus in my book.
This is the type of place we need more of in NJ.
Go!

The cozy, warm atmosphere is perfect for a night out or lunch get-together. We were very impressed with the bread…it was delicious and set the tone for the rest of our wonderful meal. We had the pork shoulder and short ribs. Both were so tender and so tasty. We also couldn’t help but try the pastas which were SO good and also made in-house! We brought our daughter with us and the staff was great in accommodating us and making sure we were comfortable. We’re already looking forward to going back again as a family and alone for date night!
