Outstanding food! The hungry man is my go to, each time! We also LOVE the breakfast burrito! Get it doble! It is a site to see! Staff is kind and efficient. I recommend to call an make reservations for the weekends as lots of local churches let out and not many breakfast options in Batesville. Would rate it higher if I could! Porker Stein Skillet pictured!

This place is a bit of a hidden gem because it is located inside an old furniture factory. However, we tried it due to its high ratings and numerous gluten-free options on its breakfast menu. We were not disappointed. In fact, I was taken aback by the size of the pancakes (one filled me, so I boxed up the second for a later snack), and my wife could not finish her enormous bowl of oatmeal. So bring a big appetite when tou come here!

The Big Four Cafe legit has the BEST food and service around town!

I referred this restaurant last month to someone out of town for breakfast and they looooved it and said the food was freakin delicious and even though they were busy the service was really fast.

We always take everyone here who is from out of town and they are always pleasantly impressed.

I was worried about the food situation moving here from the city and I’m sooo happy the Big Four exists right here in town.

Kudos to all of you, the owners and the amazing staff. Will continue to recommend anytime I can.

What a gem of a cafe, hidden inside a remodeled old furniture factory.

The service here was impeccable. The food tasty and fresh. $70 fed six of us, not a bad value for breakfast.

The pancakes are huge! Chicken and waffles were very tasty. But the best dish is the breakfast quesadilla. 12.99 and loaded with meat and more. So damn tasty.

This is a destination restaurant, not just a place to eat when your in the area. Note: reservations are highly recommended.

Super hard to find, but a cozy spot once you find it. Owner was gracious enough to turn off the 2 TVs four our group’s children who do “no screen time”. (Who needs TVs in a café anyway? : )
Very grateful for that, Phoenix! You rock!

Seems kid friendly (so long as the TVs are off – violent things were on that screen when we came in!). They actually had free gifts under the Christmas tree for all the kids in the group! (Really!) We were very glad to see they had this! God Loves you, team Big 4! : D Never forget His love for you, no matter what has or may happen; God is always good, and always there for you! : DDD
God Bless!

Excellent place to eat, all homemade items. Blueberry pancakes with real blueberries and as big as your plate.
Goetta is great. Breakfast burrito is huge and delicious. Service is on spot.
Can’t go wrong at this place.

Let me just say first…the food was amazing! HOWEVER!!!!! The misfortune is the two ladies that we were served by were above and beyond rude! We are passing through the state of Indiana on a trip and found Big Four on Google Map – so, I called and asked if they do call ahead…the lady paused and said, I don’t understand, we do reservations, I said, Oh, ok…can I reserve a table, she said are dining area is pretty packed, let me see, well, I can probably do 30-45mins from now and if you’re running behind, it would probably work better. ??? So, name in and we make it to the Big Four. We park. I locate the place, walk in to let them know we are here, and the same lady on the phone says, you are early, I said, oh, no worries, (I didn’t expect to be seated immediately) I just wanted to let you know we are here, she said well, you’re gonna have to wait! I said, that’s fine. No worries. Another waitress, she was nice, trying to help, with shoulder length blonde hair said, I’m going to grab some menus and silverware (to the dark brown short haired not nice lady/hostess/phone lady) ( there were two tables opened, one that could seat 6-8 and one that could sit 10-12) and the unfortunate lady I met on the phone and at the hostess desk said across the dining room to her as gathered the items to my right in the dining area… said well, he’s still gonna have to wait! ???? Now, the next lady that ended up being our waitress, (short blonde highlighted hair) unfortunately, on multiple occasions rolled her yes, huffed and puffed, and acted put out and bothered by any questions we had. In fact, the menu said, ask your server about our daily specials. When I asked, she stepped aside, huffed like in aggravation and pointed behind her and said, it’s right there and looked at me like I was an idiot for not knowing this already (first time there and in this part of Indiana). One of my daughters had asked for a sweet tea after we had placed our drink order, this waitress said, you will have to wait until I can get it! ???? I said, thank you and she will take a small sweet tea! She bluntly said, eye roll again, we only have one size ( the menu stated they have multiple sizes and the various prices showed this to be true). Well, a good bit later, the tea arrived. The gentleman that brought our food out, which again looked amazing and tasted even better than it looked, was very nice and pleasant upon each delivery of our 6 person table. Later, when paying the bill, I said I want to pay a tip (bad service or not, we always tip at least 20%) with my bill (they do Apple Pay) she turned the hand held toward me and bluntly said just push a button please and turned her head in disgust! It was unbelievably, horrible experience by the wait staff! I don’t know understand why, unless they only like locals and want no other passer-byers darkening their door! What a shame! Very disappointed and would never recommend knowing the face of this place is two grumpy, moody ladies who make you feel you are intrusive and unwelcome!

The service was so good here, they were running around helping each other with each table, they were so nice!
Made a few substitutions & they accommodated perfectly! The goetta was the best I’ve ever had-it was cooked perfectly!
Normally I like spicy sausage gravy but theirs wasn’t spicy—but it was still so flavorful! So good that I had to get more on the side to pour on my burrito haha. That took the burrito to a new level! Yum!!!
Reservations are recommended on weekends. We called at 8:30 and they got us in same day. Can’t wait to go back.

Stopped here driving through the area traveling. We wanted to try something local. We should have taken a gamble on The Iton Skillet. The fryer grease needs to be changed first and foremost. When we arrived the person who greeted us treated our family as an inconvenience. Should have turned around then. It took well over 20 minutes for our order to be taken. They were busy we get it. The food took forever!!! When we finally got some of our order. My son was served well ahead of everyone else. His fries and chicken tenders were overcooked in old fryer grease. Halfway through he gagged from the smell and couldn’t finish his meal. My husband and daughter ordered breakfast and were pleased with their choices. I unfortunately had an overcooked burger and overcooked onion rings, again, cooked in nasty old fryer grease. All combined possibly one of the worst dining experiences I have had. Should have kept it corporate I guess.
