Had a super lovely experience here! Incredibly friendly staff, a great weekly special line up, and delicious, spicy salsas. I ordered the fajitas and while there were more onion than I like, the flavors were great and they came with possibly the best corn tortillas I’ve had in Asheville—super soft, sturdy, and pliable. I loved my experience and I look forward to coming back to try more of their menu!

Nice little hole in the wall place. This is very different from the “California style Mexican food” places that have taken over everything and they do have traditional dishes from many other Hispanic countries.

They have one of the best Molcajete I have had in the area. That is the giant lava rock bowl that shows up stuffed full and boiling hot.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Slow down and read the menu, especially the last page! Remember to get your own salsa in the front of the restaurant, there’s plenty to choose from. #AshevilleStrong

Ehhhh service was a bit rough, drinks/dishes sent to the wrong people, no straws, stale chips, half of our table got their food 5+mins before the rest did. Service picked up when another worker checked on us but yeah… I’d say save your money on this one.
I will note I’ve come here for dinner previously and really liked their molcajete, now that was worth it.

Exactly what one would expect for a Mexican restaurant with a grocery attached… delish!
We got the burrito specials they had for Mondays $4.99 my husband got beef with refried beans and I got chicken with black beans. Holy Buckets they were huge for $4.99 and were great. Good flavor, lots of filling, side of chips with Pico and queso fresco. Such a deal.
It’s the best queso I’ve had in the area as well. Not watered down, thick and cheesey. Will defo be back!

One of my top 3 Hispanic Restaurants in the Asheville region. They are not just Mexican. They have Cuban, Honduran, Peruvian, Colombian dishes as well. There tacos are wonderful. They have lamb, carne, shrimp, pescado and other meat or vegetarian selections. Large menu. Good service. All around good place to eat. Prices are reasonable for what you get. We were very pleasantly surprised. Recommended highly.

Wow. This is the best burrito I’ve ordered from a place like this. I got a vegetarian burrito for lunch and the veggies were fresh, great choices of ingredients that made a really special flavor, and great price! Definitely going back!

We’re tourists that stopped in to eat dinner after a very long day of hiking the trails. We took a chance to eat here not knowing how it would turn out. We were very warmly greeted by the hostess who immediately sat us down at a table (no wait; no line). Our waitress, named Carmen, quickly came to our table and gave us a friendly greeting.

I wasn’t sure what their homemade drinks would taste like, and Carmen immediately brought us a free taste sample of their horchata, Tamarindo, and 1 other one (I forgot its name). All 3 were delicious. We picked the Tamarindo. She served us our drinks in huge sized chilled glasses. This exceeded our expectations (because we had come in so thirsty from our hiking). Carmen didn’t have to go out of her way to allow us to taste each flavor of drinks in advance, but she was super hospitable and kind.

We ordered vegetable fajitas and milanesa steak. My vegetable fajitas came out still sizzling in its pan. It looked beautiful and so colorful. It was super hot in temperature, just how I like it! The pan was overflowing in humongous portion of grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, squash, etc. It was grilled to perfection! Bravo to the chef; well done!! On another plate was refried beans, rice, fresh homemade guacamole (fantastic flavor!), hot tortillas (which were carefully tucked inside of foil to keep them super warm), homemade tomato salsa (excellent mix and incredibly fresh), salad, sour cream, etc. It was all served most abundantly.

Eating vegetarian meals is very difficult for me every time I eat out, because normal, typical restaurants seldom prepare warm homemade meals to vegetarians (from where I reside). La Bamba Sazón restaurant is unique in that both a meat eater and a vegetarian couple can walk in and be very satisfied to see a variety of plates offered for both types of folk. I enjoyed every bite of my vegetable fajita. I felt blessed to come here. Good prices and excellent service! I was so surprised with my food. It was beyond what I expected in a vegetable fajita. Carmen and the hostess were super kind and friendly. If I lived in this area, I’d eat here all the time. La Bamba Sazón needs to come down to South Florida! Thank you for your excellent service, Carmen! May God bless you.
