One of south bay’s best options for a New York style slice! I love getting slices, offers more variety and reheated pizza is always more delicious. We had some full pies delivered for a birthday party, and they were just ok compared to getting slices at the shop. The ratios on the cheese slice are perfect; right amount of sauce and cheese. Crust is thin like cracker, which is not my preference, I like more of a chew. I wish I got the parmigiano add on, wish that were default. Recommend the hot honey on the pep, always a good combo. I give the cheese slice an 8.8, a top option in South Bay.

Great selection of slices with lots of things you wouldn’t normally see. Really enjoyed the one with broccolini, and the pepperoni and sausage was good too. Counter service with some seating and a pinball machine. Craft soda fountain. Will definitely be back!

Smell was questionable, pizza was great crunch to slight burn ratio perfect. Cheese was good. Ranch wasn’t free should be free though. Solid 3/5. Service wasn’t great, should bring pizza to you. Got weird looks from staff. Also very snappy but they had big water cups! Price was ok

I came to State of Mind Slice House on the recommendation of a good friend who owns another pizzeria. I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of the heat and sweet. The crust had a great taste and was perfectly chewy and crunchy. Both slices were delicious.
The only downside was the service. Those slices were so delicious that I wanted to order a whole pizza to take home for my family. There were two workers at the front that were standing there talking behind the register. I was standing at the front of the register with my card out ready to order. They completely ignored me for two or three minutes. A group of people walked in and one of the workers slid over to his right to take their order. The pizza is good, so I will go back again, but hopefully those two workers are not there when I do.

The pizza here is really good. I tried the garlic knots as well and would recommend them too. The odd thing about State of Mind was the employees, who seemed indifferent about if the customers are there or not. It made the atmosphere a bit blah. I’d recommend checking it out because the quality of the food, and it seems like a good spot for grabbing a slice or two plus some garlic knots, but don’t expect a warm welcome.

Possibly the best Gluten Free Pizza Crust I have had from a restaurant. 12 x12 square thick dough with the crispy bottom. Husband got 2 slices and garlic knots. Alameda Beverage company lemonade and cream soda drinks.

For a pizza location, this business definitely ranks squarely in the middle. The pizza taste is comparable to some similar local pizza restaurants, but lacks in comparable crust and sauce flavoring. The crust tended to be a bit dry and grainy while the pizza itself was quite oily. The sauce did not have a distinct taste on any of the slices that we tried. This could, however, be because the pizzas were sitting out cold in the display case and they reheat your slice for you when you order in a single slice. Potentially ordering a full pizza or pizza to go might fix this issue for a tastier slice. However, the garlic knots were really tasty and quite large for garlic knots (perhaps more smaller ones per portion might be better?). The unique soda fountain flavors were fun to try and something that sets this location apart from similar pizza locations in the same area. That all being said, the food was on the more expensive side as compared to other locations with slice sizes not scaling comparably. The inside was not that clean with old plates, napkins, and oil on tables.

Great place for a quick slice and a beer. It is right on El Camino so if you sit outside you’ll get a bit of dust from the neverending moving cars, but I like this corner a lot and it’s a pleasant stop for me.
I am a big fan of their square pieces, they are a bit heavier and thicker, but the crust is the right type of crunch. A lot of parents stop by to grab slices to go with their kids, it’s a neighborhood favorite.

State of Mind Slice House is about a five minute drive from my wife and I’s new place. It has also become our current favorite spot to grab pizza!
While a bit pricey ($40-$50 for a whole pizza), the pizza’s worth it for the great and unique flavors. My wife’s favorite is the “heat and sweet”: topped with jalapeños, bacon, and a sweet honey drizzled on top, it’s unique and delicious.
You have the option to buy by the slice, or as a full pizza. They are also open to pretty much any customizations on the menu.
I would describe the place’s ambiance as a beachy, quirky vibe. (As evidenced by my photos & others you can find of the shop’s interior design).
The music’s fun. It’s often too loud for my taste, but I don’t mind too much since usually I’ll grab just one slice for me while I wait then take our full ‘za to go.
If you’re looking for a delicious pizza with some fun, out of the box flavors and toppings, I recommend y’all to try this one out 🙂
