Talk about burger, fries, and shake perfection. This spot nails that classic combo we all crave. The burger itself was killer their “press the meat and cheese together” style makes every bite rich, melty, and full of flavor. Even though I’ve come to enjoy simpler cheeseburgers lately, Irv’s totally hit the mark.
Service was just as impressive. The gentleman who helped me was awesome he looked to be handling everything solo from the cash register to the shake machine to the grill, and if that’s the case, huge props. He ran the place like a pro.
If you’re in Pacific Beach and want that nostalgic burger-joint experience done right, Irv’s Burgers is absolutely worth the stop.

Ordered the beautifully pictured sesame seed burger in the picture from the menu and got this other bun, zero smash thing… granted, the price was very fair and a lot of food for the price about $11.30 w tax etc. sadly, it was flavorless besides the cheese and onion… was undercooked and just a waste of calories

Great menu selection if burgers or make your own option. I hade the pastrami sandwich which was delicious. My wife had a build your own burger with tater tots. The staff was so helpful in providing a to go box for our crows at home that will eat almost anything

Similar to a burger you might find at an old fashioned diner- pressed on a flat top, seasoned perfectly, and definitely affordable for the portion size. I had a double (+Hatch Chilis) but likely would have been pleased with a single. Shoestring fries were hot and crispy, staff was kind and informative which is always a plus!
There is no shortage of good burgers in Pacific Beach but this one should be added to the rotation, particularly if you are minding your wallet.

Great burger place in PB. We had the best burger on the menu. Very flavorful, soft buns, and crispy smash burger patty. Onions and pickles had a nice touch. Really like the cheese dip for the fries and their ranch was delicious. Onion rings were also great but felt like a small portion for the price but other than that, I recommend you check it you if you’re in the area!

The name of the burger I got was called “The Best Burger on the Menu,” named after a scene in the movie, The Menu.” The guy behind the counter was super nice and had lots of information About the menu and the history of the franchise. I will stop here every time I’m in San Diego.

I got ripped off, I paid like $20 for a 8 ounce pastrami sandwich and thats not what I got, maybe they gave me someone else order, maybe two ounces tops. Disspointed and will never order again… unacceptable given their prices, oh and I called and they don’t answer at all, called multiple times, all went to voicemail, except one which they answered then instantly hung up, like what the heck???

Took the boys for a staycation they wanted a burger so I found this Jem close to our hotel freakin amazing burger we had it twice and we live in OC and honestly best burger wish we had one here. I think his names with Adam was the sweetest guy and helpful definitely coming back any place that my son eats the whole burger twice is a god sent from me LOL

A commendable smash burger. Super crispy edges. Got the ‘world best’. Wish I got the next one up as I prefer lettuce and tomatoes to balance it out. Glad there is a decent smash much closer than Smash&Dash.
