Went there for my buddy’s 21st. They don’t do birthday drinks anymore. Which was news to me. I got the loaded tater tots. They were kind of dry. Definitely needed sour cream. Other than that it was a great time

Loved this place! We visited around 10pm and it was decently packed but didn’t feel too crowded. I’m not sure if we’re just used to LA prices but the drinks weren’t too expensive to us. I think we spent more on the pinball machines lmao. Awesome vibes and killer live music!

I’m new in town, and was looking for a good pub to enjoy a brew and a meal. I’d heard that the Merry Time Bar & Grill was a local legend, and decided to give it a go.
I ordered the ‘Merry Monster Burger’, with the homemade Hungarian Mushroom soup. It was huge, it was beyond delicious, and it was very affordable… So yes, I agree, the Merry Time is tops for hamburger and beer , and with a very friendly bar and kitchen.
I will definitely return soon to try some more of the local brews and meals.

I usually go to gamble when I do go, but I’ve also ordered a drink a time or two and the bartenders were very nice and quick and the drink was great. The atmosphere is always fun Just make sure you have your ID because they are not messing around which is good!

The food was good. I ordered the Merry Monster and requested a salad instead of the fries/tot option. The salad was actually the best part. It was full of great ingredients and very fresh. My wife ordered the street tacos. She asked the order taker his opinion on the carnitas vs. chicken option. Unfortunately he wasn’t even trying to be helpful. Two star reduction wasn’t due to any one thing. It was more like so many small easy things that added up to lousy service, poor experience, and frustration. Here’s a few; ordering at the bar and paying the tip before the service only to discover that it took 42 minutes from order to service. cheep plastic utensils. Less then cold beer. The food runner did bring us requested water. Nobody check back at the table. I guess that’s because they want you to stand in line for anything else. Again, that’s fine but that level of service didn’t qualify for the level of up front tip.

Local tavern in Astoria with view of Columbia river. Food was decent. Wife and I got street tacos. Three tasty pork tacos, we should’ve shared them, they were so big. Has pinball, poker, and slot machines. Atmosphere is dark with lots of paraphernalia on the walls.

I haven’t been here in years, last time we were able to bet on the ponies, not now, and that’s not a big deal, you can still play the Oregon slot machines but don’t think you can get rich. On our visit we just wanted drinks, but the food that I saw looks great. My margarita was sub par, I won’t order again. They have a great pinball selection for us who like that. I’ll cycle back again.
