Imperial Garden #2 replaced another popular Chinese restaurant in the same location. The food is very authentic (for American style Chinese food…lol) and served Chinese style. The main courses don’t come with rice, etc. You order rice as a side. During the week, they do offer combo meals which I recommend as they come with salad, soup and rice or pan fried noodles. The food itself is excellent and restaurant atmosphere and servers are very pleasant.

I ordered from them for the second time and the food disappointed me this time. I found two strands of hair in the beef chow fun. The sweet and sour chicken were dry and hard, and the texture felt like biting into a rock. The dish had no taste and was not edible.

The portions looked rushed and poorly made. The food arrived warm but the quality was low. I expected better, especially after giving them a second chance. I will not order from here again. The experience was frustrating and the food was not worth the money.

Very doable place for dim sum. Is it the best in the area? Not really. I ordered the Har Gow, Shui Mai, Fried Calamari, and fish porridge. All were very taste and good enough to satisfy craving for this time of food. If you’ve grown up with this, you’ll think that it’s okay. I know that this will be my second choice to come to or if I’m in this part of town then I’ll make it a point to come in. I do like the fact that they have the roast duck and roast pork all on display, ready for someone to walk in and order some to take home. The best item that I ordered was the Shui Mai it was a nice size and done like it is traditionally. My wife is a big fan of fish porridge and she did like it but it was average. The calamari was typical, as well as the Har Gow. All in all the place was satisfactory. The place is good for Fresno period.

We ordered 3 dishes from Imperial Garden 2 and were very disappointed. 2 of the dishes were the #42 Honey Walnut Shrimp that were $17.99 each. There were a total of 12 shrimps per plate although the photo on their physical menu is at least double the quantity.

We called the restaurant as we were quite surprised at how expensive the dish was. They confirmed the dish only comes with 12 pieces of shrimp although the photo reflects a larger amount. We were very disappointed as there was not enough food for our group of people. Sure, if this was a much nicer restaurant with organic dishes and everything was fresh, I would be more than happy to pay that price but this isn’t the case as we felt their photos were deceitful.

There are plenty of other REALLY good Asian restaurants that aren’t overpriced. Definitely not ordering from here again

A friend invited to go here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. Not being a Chinese food conisueur I o ordered on the conservative side with hot and sour soup, orange chicken, fried rice, chow mein and an egg roll. Let me tell you, everything was delicious, our server was very prompt and the food came out quickly. I’ll certainly be back to try some of my faves!

Not recommend. Branch of the Imperial Garden in town.
The Har Gow and Siu Mai were reheated. Shouldn’t do that.
They served Cantonese BABY Roast Duck. Not meaty, no meat flavor, and tasteless.
I missed my own restaurant.

One of the best Chinese food experience in fresno. Food were delicious, staff were providing great services. Worth every penny. More details below.
Came in on a cold January night in 2025, restaurant were only 1/3 full, 2 roasted duck left in the oven display and 1 slab of pork. Lighting was plentiful for this hidden gem place.
This is one of the few places in Fresno that serve whole roasted duck. They offered not just one but two type of roasted duck. PEKING duck, which is using pure traditional techniques to elevate the protein flavor and texture. The other is House special roasted duck, which had marinated in traditional warm spices and sauces, to further enhance the protein. Flavor profile would resonate well with the well trained palate in the Asian cuisine. This dish was paired with some pickled julienne daikon carrot and cucumber, a perfect balance of acid to cut through the duck fattiness with exceptional fresh crisp. I could go on more about the dish but you should try it for yourself, save some mystery to be discovered.
Another dish that didn’t miss was the salt and pepper squid, crispy light batter yet tender squid, not yet rubbery nor chewy, topped with fried green onion, it was near perfect appetizer for the meal.
XO sauce fish filet dish were made with plenty crunchy vegetables and fried cod fish. Sauce contained element of dried scallop and tiny shrimp, making this dish a seafood forward with plenty of umami.
Well, I will be back soon and yall should try it ASAP.

Always an amazing experience when I go here. The food is fresh and taste amazing, while the portions are gigantic! Its always nice to go after a long day. I just wish I had more people to go with so I could try more menu items.

People are very friendly amd welcoming! However the food had an odd taste that threw me off guard, I couldnt place it but it was OK, but there were large portions. The order was for take out and it took about twice as long to get it then what they said over the phone, but they were getting busy. Over all its ok..

Definitely hands down the best Chinese food in Fresno, and in my opinion, the Central Valley. The food is just not your generic Chinese food they go above and beyond on service, and the cooks are really dishing out something special. They also have a delicious dim sum menu.
