Reviews
The food presentation is truly where Ghee shines. Every dish that came to the table looked like a work of art—vibrant colors, thoughtful garnishes, and beautiful plating that definitely makes it “Instagram-worthy.” You can tell there is a massive amount of care put into the sourcing and quality of the ingredients; the meats were tender, and the produce felt incredibly fresh.
However, I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 for two main reasons:
The Price Point: While the atmosphere and service are premium, the bill felt quite steep for what we actually received. It definitely leans into the “luxury” category, but the value-to-cost ratio felt a bit lopsided.
The Spice Level: For a restaurant celebrating Indian flavors, the food was bland at best. We were hoping for those bold, punchy spices that define the cuisine, but everything felt very “toned down” and safe. If you’re looking for a heat kick or deep, complex spice profiles, you might find this a bit underwhelming.
Overall, it’s a great spot if you want a beautiful atmosphere and stellar service, but I’d love to see them dial up the authentic heat to match those premium prices.
Our table was checked on consistently without ever feeling rushed, and every detail from timing of courses to refills and special requests was handled flawlessly. Quincy’s professionalism, warm personality, and attention to detail truly enhanced our entire dining experience.
If you’re dining at Ghee Midtown, ask for Quincy you won’t be disappointed!
As for food, that carried the meal for us. Snacks were excellent and entrees were up there as well. We will most certainly go back and would recommend to anyone that asks. Bread options were unique and not to be missed.
However, the naan was a letdown. It lacked the traditional fluffiness and char you’d expect from a good tandoori naan, instead, it resembled a Subway flatbread, which took away from the overall experience. This is definitely an area they could improve on.
Service was decent but could be more attentive and prompt. On the bright side, the ambience was pleasant and inviting, making for a comfortable dining atmosphere. Plus, the convenience of parking in the same building is a big plus.
Started with a lychee martini and a another cocktail for my wife the drinks tasted more of alcohol than they did of a mixed drink
The Samosa chaat was not bad, but it didn’t cost almost $16 which is a very overpriced evaluation for it even for an upscale restaurant
We also ordered the paneer jalfrezi and the chicken tikka the restaurant offered. Unfortunately neither hit the mark for us flavor-wise.
The restaurant was also described as “high dining” but did not have the expected decor or ambience I was hoping for. The lights were too bright, and the kitchen setup in the middle of the seating area gave me the vibes of a converted fast food restaurant that had not had enough reconstruction done.
The promotional videos I saw made the expectations for this place greater than it was in person.
Overall, I’ve had much better food and experiences for the price I paid in Atlanta.
The food was nicely done with authentic, familiar flavors that hit the mark. Everything tasted fresh and properly spiced, exactly what you want when you’re craving Indian food. I sat at the bar and really enjoyed being able to watch the action in the open kitchen – it added an engaging element to the meal and the service was attentive throughout.
The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between polished and energetic. The decor is modern and well-appointed, making it feel like a step up from your typical neighborhood Indian restaurant, and it fits seamlessly into the West Midtown dining scene.
Ghee delivers solid, classic Indian cuisine, but it’s not reinventing the wheel. If you’re looking for innovative twists or avant-garde interpretations, this isn’t that kind of place. What it does offer is consistency and quality in a pleasant environment.
I visited on a Monday for the tasting option, which is $50 (it’s $65 the rest of the week). For that price, I expected a high-end experience. While they claim to offer a “modern twist,” most of the dishes were actually just common Indian cuisine staples. That wouldn’t be a problem if the execution was perfect, but the taste was very under par for the cost.
The one area where they truly excelled was the sweet course—the desserts were amazing.
Aside from the dessert, it felt like a fine-dining “sit-down buffet.” The quality felt more in line with a $25 meal, not $50+.
The kitchen needs to pay closer attention to the pacing. The speed at which the food comes out for the tasting option was off, making the flow of the meal feel disjointed.
On a positive note, accessibility is great. There is ample parking, and they offer free validation for 3 hours in the garage, which takes the stress out of driving there.
Bottom Line: It has potential and great accessibility, but right now, the savory food doesn’t justify the price tag.
Next main course we took Ghost Pepper Nan, Avacado Bhatura, and Ghee Nan with Dal Makhni and kofta curry.
Ghost pepper cheddar Nan and ghee nan was below average it was taste like Pita bread not a Nan.
Avacado Bhatura was average.
Next is Dal Makhni did not taste good and had watery texture.
In Vegetable kofta gravy was good but kofta is average.
In Dessert we took WarmSticky date cake. That was fantastic.
Overall atmosphere is fantastic ,table service was excellent ,but food didn’t meet my expectations.
