I’ve been here a few times and every time it was really good. However, I went there this saturday with a friend and wow just a whole different experience. The food has always been good, but sometimes the service was just okay nothing really special which isn’t a bad thing. This saturday my server was JT, and he might be the best server I ever had. He checked in with us multiple times and truly made sure we were all set. Very charming too and just made the night great! Hope to see him again next time!

Beautiful spot on the water with a lively atmosphere! The appetizer was a highlight, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The salmon could have used more flavor, but overall it was still a lovely experience.

There was one tiny piece of crab in the crab and corn chowder, mainly potatoes with a few kernels of corn! Whipped feta appetizer was excellent except pita bread was a stale.

Happened to be exploring the area and stopped in for lunch. We sat on the covered back deck (which overlooks the parking lot & dock). Our server was great. We shared the fried calamari – excellent! Baked cod & fish tacos were both tasty.

We had an exceptional experience at Sail Loft thanks to Ashley, our server. From the moment we sat down, she was kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our meal. Her recommendations were spot-on…something we rarely experience. Too often servers list everything on the menu when asked for suggestions, but Ashley actually guided us to dishes she truly enjoys herself. It makes such a difference knowing she’s familiar with the food, and it shows. More restaurants should encourage their staff to taste the menu…it clearly helps elevate the entire dining experience!
On her recommendation, I tried the chicken piccata, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had…made even more impressive considering it was one of the busiest nights of the year (Holiday Stroll). Despite the crowds, the entire staff was friendly, the food came out quickly and piping hot, and the cocktails were delicious. The Christmas music set the perfect atmosphere.
It’s been quite a while since we last dined at Sail Loft, but after this visit, we can’t wait to return. Thank you, Ashley, for making our night such a memorable one. She truly made the visit a hit!

Second visit and first time as a vegitarian. Food and service was great. 4/5 was given for food because of limited vegitarian options. I got pesto Primavera which was the only main entrée for vegitarian meal. Also, got whipped feta which was the only vegitarian appetizer. They had salad options they could give without meat but I would not go out to have salad.

I hadn’t been since pre-renovation, and was invited out for a birthday dinner. I’ve since collected several food sensitivities (dairy, gluten, and eggs) and was really stressing about this meal since absolutely NOTHING on the menu suggested an easy modification or that they could accommodate at all.
I actually called twice and both times, the women I spoke with were SO helpful and friendly and understanding.
My entree was fantastic even modified (baked haddock) and I felt comfortable and accommodated. A+ experience.

We had a great experience at The Sail Loft in Dartmouth and would definitely go back. The service was friendly and on point from start to finish, and the atmosphere had that relaxed coastal vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. The food was excellent – the crispy calamari was cooked perfectly, the Chicken Piccata was amazing, and my wife really enjoyed her Greek salad. Drinks from the bar were also great and well made, which just added to the night. Overall, an awesome spot for a date night or dinner out, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

The spot on the water you’re looking for, parking is a little rough when it’s busy but that’s to be expected in coastal towns. I’m giving it 5 for the staples, solid clam chowder and brown butter lobster roll. People wait in line for chowder that’s not this good in Boston
