a serious questioning how do you mess up a baked potato it’s so simple yet not once but twice… under cooked completely both times and same issue here came out with the same potato again, understanding but completely unacceptable when it’s the exact same result. completely unacceptable and completely uneditable I understand the need of the conventional cooking oven for most restaurants but it’s unbelievable assuming to get a home-cooked meal and getting something completely opposite.. we gave a shot to a new restaurant, and this was the result
I would expect to find this place in an old area of Chicago.Interior has a beer smell to match its yesterday furnishings.
The food was good. I’m partial to greasy hamburgers killer onion rings.
Service average.Decor mildly interesting.Food good.Parking plentiful.Pricing average.
AWARDED 1.5 YUMS ON A SCALE OF 3.
The busboy came quickly with waters and a… bowl of popcorn! Like restaurants would bring chips and salsa, I have never seen that before in all my years. But, the 8 year old was in HEAVEN because he didn’t have the chance to get his popcorn before we left the game. The popcorn was really good & melted in your mouth. Definitely a hit! The waitress came just a few moments after & took our drink orders. They had a pretty good selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, as you were given 2 separate menus just for those. We did opt out of alcohol this visit, & the kids just got pops (2.99, Coke products).
When the waitress came back with our drinks, she took our orders. My 8 year old wanted the children’s cheeseburger, & the waitress advised us that it was a small slider style burger. I was VERY grateful she advised us of that. It was $7.99 & my little guy would have definitely still been hungry! So, he got a regular cheeseburger(15.99), medium well, w/ fries. My husband got the spaghetti & meatball dinner (19.99)… yes, singular lol it was 1 giant meatball . 17 year old got the chicken parmesan dinner(24.99). And I got the chicken caprese sandwich (15.99). Their dinners came with salads, which came out right away. They looked delicious & were really good portions. The ranch dressing was DELICIOUS! Hubby & 17 year-old ate them up pretty quickly. Right after that, I excused myself to the restroom. I was only in there a few moments & by the time I came back the food was at the table! The presentation was pretty good, everything looked and smelled delicious. The portions were comparable to most other restaurants we’ve been to, with similar pricing. Except the chicken parmesan, that was kind of a disappointment, especially for $24.99. There were 2 cutlets of chicken, grilled & not breaded, which isn’t really traditional for a chicken parmesan. The serving of spaghetti was barely visible under these 2 stacked pieces of chicken. He said the flavor was pretty good, but he wished he would’ve gotten a burger instead. The 8 year old loved his burger & fries and was chowing them down. Hubby’s spaghetti & meatball were also on the “eh” side. He said that the sauce was really good… a little on the thinner side, almost like a marinara instead of a traditional spaghetti sauce. But the meatball was where it became blah. He said it was more like a mini meatloaf & didn’t have a good flavor. He ate the spaghetti & passed half of the meatball to my garbage disposal of a 17 year old & even he wouldn’t eat it after taking a couple bites. My chicken caprese sandwich was really good, & I’m such a picky eater. I always get apprehensive when ordering chicken sandwiches because a lot of the times the chicken is dry or chewy or just off in some way. The chicken was SO good. My personal taste it could’ve used a little more basil and balsamic, but again that’s my personal preference. The fries were a seasoned almost battered style, and they were really good as well. I do wish they came out a little warmer.
The service was really good. The waitress was very friendly & attentive & there was a busboy who was consistently there clearing our table from our empty plates & cups.Total was about $100, with tip. Overall, we would come back, but 2 of us would definitely order something else.
