Widow’s Tavern and Grille is a casual American bar and grill located on Main Street in Stockertown. This neighborhood spot is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday until 11:00 PM, Saturday until 12:00 AM, and Sunday until 8:00 PM.
I’d heard a lot of great things about Widow’s Tavern and Grille, and the mouthwatering photos I kept coming across gave me the nudge I needed to finally stop in.
My friend and I kicked things off with the French onion and chicken parm soups. Served in crocks, they were hot, rich in flavor, and perfectly smothered in gooey melted mozzarella.
For appetizers, we enjoyed the mini crab cakes and chicken lemongrass potstickers. The crab cakes were perfectly seared, packed with sweet lump crab, and served on a delicate lemon beurre blanc, and the potstickers were lightly crisp and served with a sweet-and-salty soy-based dipping sauce.
For my entree, I went with the blackened chicken pasta, which featured blackened chicken, spicy Alfredo, mushrooms, tomatoes, and penne. The noodles were cooked al dente, and the sauce was creamy and packed with flavor. I was a bit skeptical about ordering pasta, but I’m glad I did, as it exceeded my expectations.
My friend went with the Widow’s meatloaf, which was juicy, hearty, and well seasoned. It came with a generous serving of creamy mashed potatoes.
We wrapped up the meal with tiramisu. While it wasn’t homemade, we still enjoyed it.
Our server, Dani, was friendly and attentive, and made a great recommendation with the blackened chicken pasta.
Between the comforting food, thoughtful flavors, and friendly service, Widow’s Tavern and Grille is a place worth coming back to.

My wife and I are new to the area and decided to try this place out for date night. We were not disappointed! Our waitress was very polite, professional, and accommodating, the environment was calm and comforting, and the food was perfect – from the apps and soup to salad and entree! Its on the pricier side however they give you very generous portions one can easily make 2 perhaps even 3 meals out of.

We had a 60th surprise party for my husband just last night and it couldn’t have been any better !!!! The owner Judy was so sweet and so attentive to my needs on the party !! Her son Tommy I’m sure I drove crazy with all my questions but was so sweet in helping me with everything !! Linda our server was awesome we never waited for anything she was on the ball the whole night!!!! OH AND THE FOOD ????!!! AMAZING !!!! From the prim rib to the chicken piccata soo yummy!!!! I would 100% recommend this restaurant for a party or even just for dinner you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!! ❤️

We hosted a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my mom at Widow’s and it was a fabulous evening! The food was incredible! Im still dreaming about the blacken chicken pasta, it was so creamy and delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were out of this world! Our family had the best time here celebrating my mom. The service was amazing. They took such great care of our large party (20 adults and 2 kids) and were so attentive and pleasant. Widow’s has always been a restaurant staple in our family and it was awesome to spend the night at one of our favorite places celebrating my mom. Tommy and Regan went above and beyond to make my mom’s night incredibly special!

This place is a hidden gem that deserves more credit and business than it gets. It’s a super cute setting, there’s live entertainment, indoor and outdoor seating, plenty of parking, a bar, attentive customer service just about every time, and they never miss when it comes to food.
The salmon is savory, the widows grilled chicken sandwich is thick and crunchy, and the blackened chicken pasta is addictive. The portion is HUGE – probably enough for two or three people.
