Stanley’s Kitchen & Tap (O’Hare)
Verdict: A High-Security Dining Simulation
The “Tech-First” Disaster
The experience begins with a digital hostage crisis. You are forced to interface with a “disjointed” app that makes ordering a basic burger feel like filing your taxes during a fever dream. This isn’t “modern dining”; it’s a way for the restaurant to ignore you while you do their data entry for them.
The Culinary War Crimes
The Temperature: The burger and fries arrived with the structural integrity of cardboard and the temperature of a morgue. Clearly, the concept of a “heat lamp” is a technology they haven’t mastered yet.
The Taste: Imagine chewing on a damp sponge that once sat near a cow. It was utterly tasteless—a vacuum of flavor that actually seemed to suck the joy out of the room.
The Essentials: No cutlery. No napkins. No mustard. To get the bare minimum required for human consumption, you have to hunt down a waitress who is clearly overwhelmed by the systemic failure of the “efficient” app system.
The Security Breach Finale
The “payment” process was the final insult. When the broken app inevitably failed to take my money, I was told to walk into the greasy kitchen to use a stationary credit card machine. In what world is a customer expected to haul their luggage through a slick, hazardous kitchen prep area just to settle a bill?
Final Thought: I’ve had more dignified meals in a doctor’s waiting room. Eating here feels less like a meal and more like being processed in a detention center. If you see the sign for Stanley’s, keep walking until you hit a different terminal. Or a different city.

Food was tasty but cold because it took over 40 minutes to get it to me. I didn’t get a drink until well after I got my food. I wasn’t offered a cup for water. I got a knife to cut my steak after I had finished my steak 20 minutes later. The waitress tried to help but she looked super overwhelmed. Shame on the business owners for not hiring more waiters and waitresses to handle the amount of business needed. Your employees are trying but they are overwhelmed. If you struggle to find employees pay more. I paid over $70 for terrible service.

Pretty terrible overall, had the brisket bowl. Brisket was ok, but cut super thin for sandwiches and smothered in bbq sauce; it all came out on top of cold/dry breakfast hashbrowns. Had an $$$ Stella with it, it was flat. I go into airport with low expectations. Mentioned the terrible food to the server, he laughed about it.

Carlos has, no joke, been one of the best servers I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. (I didn’t say “was,” because I felt compelled to write this review before I even closed out.) Incredible service and hospitality all around.
In addition to Carlos’ exceptional service, the food tasted great, with portions commensurate with price.
No complaints here at all, and I’m excited to come back next time I’m at the airport.

I had the chili and a chicken Caesar salad. The chili was tasty, the salad was huge and the chicken was good quality. The food came quickly and it was warm. Yes, the server did request I order via QR code, but she was very helpful and attentive throughout and allowed me to pay my bill with her. I don’t think all the negative reviews are warranted based on my experience.

Food (Burger) was somewhere between school lunch and straight from Sysco. A little much for the price. The bussers were nice but using the proprietary mobile ordering website was finnicky. Decent place to people watch and have a beer or two.

Came for a beer, will never stop here again. They gave me a Stella that was totally flat, no carbonation or head. I asked for a Blue Moon and I think they dumped salt in it to give it a head, it quickly died down to a very flat beer.
What a disappointment. Tap beer isn’t properly carbonated. Makes me wonder how disgusting the tap are!?!?

Small menu. Typical prices for Airport. I had medium well cheese burger. Cooked perfectly. Bun was soft and fresh. I see a lot of bad reviews but my experience was pleasant. I don’t like having to order through the app however.

I ordered chicken wings & a fried chicken sandwich w/ fries. Both were perfectly cooked and served quickly. Kinda pricey at $44.00, but airport food usually is; but in my opinion it was worth it. Tv’s that shows football games is a plus as well. You order through app. Simple process. Loved the fact that a guy I thought to be the owner was helpful in serving customers, would highly recommend.

HORRIBLE GROSS WARMED UP FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVERS. 5 adults and a kid, we ordered a burger, two chicken burgers, rib eye bowl and wings. Everything was dry, fries not cooked fully, all pre cooked I’m sure because it was at our table in 5 min. Rib eye was chewy, first I ordered a steak sandwich but then was told it’s just thin sliced meat, so cancelled. Burgers were gross frozen patties, chicken very dry. We put so much ketchup on the fries to try and eat them. We all ate only a 1/4 to maybe 1/2 of our food!
Server doesn’t help people with QR codes. I watched another table help a older lady because after she asked the server many times and didn’t help, she asked another table. Server just kept saying scan the code.
They try to automatically charge 20% tip. For what? You have to make your own order and figure out the codes if you don’t know. He just brings out food and clean up when you leave. No serving skills to work there. Rude and no help. Food was so gross! McDonald’s is a way better choice even though I don’t like there’s but they beat this place!
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE.
