The Pulled Pork and Queso sandwich emerged as a paragon of unpretentious excellence offering a substantial volumetric profile that ensured a state of absolute satiety. The shredded porcine filaments were masterfully integrated with a molten caseous emulsion creating a deceptively elementary yet organoleptically profound experience. The accompanying tubers exhibited a slightly elevated lipid profile yet this oleaginous characteristic proved negligible as I consumed them with rapacious celerity.
Furthermore the dish designated as the “Main Event” presented a harmonious confluence of savory and sweet wherein the maize-based griddle cakes acted as the perfect substrate for the savory pork. The service was characterized by impeccable solicitude with the personnel demonstrating unwavering vigilance regarding our comfort. This establishment is truly a stellar bastion of American cuisine.
aka, I ordered the Pulled Pork and Queso sandwich and it was wonderful, the meal was simple but delicious and offered a good portion size. I was satisfied afterwards. The fries while delicious, were slightly on the oilier side but that wasnt a problem since I wolfed them down. The dish called main event was also delicious with wonderful blend of pulled pork and cornbread pancakes. Overall everything was good and the service was immaculate, friendly workers always checking on us. Great environment inside with great decor giving it a homey and comfortable vintage eatery vibe. a gem in bryan texas!
Great food, great flavor, and a comfortable local atmosphere. Definitely a 5-star experience!
We have 2 little ones and the lady behind the counter was very nice and set up 2 high chairs for us at our table before we even ordered.
My husband got the cornbread pancakes topped with pulled pork, queso, and a mango Pico. I know that cornbread pancakes may seem intimidating, but try them, you won’t be disappointed! I got the Pork and Queso sandwich which was served on a jalapeño hoagie roll. That sandwich was delicious and I will absolutely get it again. Even the kids meal came with so many fries that both my babies were able to share with much left over.
Food came out fast, the atmosphere had a great downtown feel, and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend!
I’m typically not a sandwich fanatic, but I have to give this one some praise.
I especially like the bread they used; it’s a soft, sweet bread that they toasted in a way that gives the interior face of the bread some sweet crispiness.
On top of that, the chicken was juicy, the vegetables were fresh, and the service was great.
The entire staff stayed in their phones the entire time (including the cooks)…not once was our table checked on.
My whole plate was literally room temperature. My fries were soft and limpy. The brisket was decent, but I only got maybe 3 forks worth of it. (I had more melted cheese than meat). The cornbread appetizer is a very tiny muffin for about $3…but the cornbread was very dense, and tasted like I poured straight corn meal in my mouth. My friends plate was so bad she didn’t even eat the other 3/4s of it.
If you’re going for good food, draft drinks…This ain’t it. Go try somewhere down the street.
