Rustic German Fair just outside of Notre Dame University. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful, the chief came out to greet guests and the food was delicious. I had the Reuben sandwich with homemade corn beef, which was very very tasty.

Our first visit to this restaurant was very good! I would highly recommend trying this place at least once. The food was really good (recommend one of the sampler dishes so you can experience most of the food). The service and atmosphere inside the restaurant was also very nice. We went pretty early so it wasn’t too crowded. I would recommend making a reservation to be on the safe side as seating can be limited with how popular the restaurant is.

What a treat! I enjoy German food and look forward to going to a good restaurant that serves tasty German food. This restaurant was a lot of fun the kiddos didn’t want to leave. The staff was extremely friendly, we were greeted when walking in and sitting at the table everyone spoke. The restaurant was clean and the walls were decorated in cockoo clocks that the kiddos enjoyed. They even set them off a few times, which made the kids day. The pretzel with homemade mustard was delicious! We all enjoyed it. I ordered the braised rabbit which was really good. It felt like the entire dish was full of hidden little treasures. I was completely blown away. My kiddos tasted it and enjoyed it as well. My husband had the cordon blu which he really enjoyed. Now they don’t have a dedicated kids menu, but I do like that they came to the table and said all the kid friendly dishes. They had a few listed on the menu such as chicken tenders and fries. After dinner we got dessert, and OH MY. We got the strawberry torte and the carrot cake. The strawberry torte was my favorite. It wasn’t over sweet and it was refreshing. I really enjoyed it. The family really liked the carrot cake. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant and if we are ever in the area again we will be back.

Authentic fresh German fare and hand made desserts. The Chef clearly cares about the food and dining experience. I would highly recommend the schnitzel or house sampler.

Friendly staff! First German restaurant treat. Foods are interesting and tasty. There is a bread and butter for the starter. The portions for the main entree are decent for the price. They come with house salads.

Best, friendliest staff anywhere. Great, truly authentic German food. Great German beer with good bar prices. Owners are great people. Live music. Had great conversations with people at the next table. Everyone is friendly! This was our first visit, and we will definitely be back.

My family and I did Sunday brunch here today and wow. What amazing food options. We all had the mimosa flight and then I ordered a bene with mushrooms added and it was absolutely scrumptious. The biscuit was so savory and delightful I wanted to cry tears of happiness.

The German potatoes had the perfect zing to them with the vinegar that they make them with. If I wasn’t so full I’d have also tried their spatzle today as well. My family are already talking about returning for Easter brunch.

Delicious German American food. The Saturday we went they had live accordian music that was festive and volume appropriate for dinner music. My daughter really enjoyed the live music.

Just had the Sunday brunch and I have to say it was amazing. First they brought out a basket of house made rolls with warmed jelly. They tasted like no other roll I’ve ever had. Fluffy and light with a great taste to them.
My friend and I had the half and half which is fluffy biscuits, sausage gravy and German style potatoes. My friend couldn’t finish his potatoes due to being full from the other items with it. My wife had the brisket and Benny which is basically eggs Benedict with house made brisket. She too couldn’t eat it all! She loved it!
The atmosphere and decor is wonderful and fun to look at. It’s great to see a restaurant that makes their own pastries, breads, mustards, sauces, and far more than I can describe here!
The service is top notch as friendliness and smiles was seen everywhere we looked.
If you’re looking for an amazing, fun place to go for German cuisine.. this is your place to be!!
