This is one of those reviews that you are reluctant to write because it will only mean you’ll have more competition to get a table.
But this business is hands-down the best sushi in the entire area. Not least because the fish is fresh, the restaurant itself is lovely and clean and spacious, but because they make you feel so welcome. The owner will come up to your table without fail, recognizing you if this is a return visit, and without any awkwardness make you feel welcome.
The restaurant is oversubscribed. They do not have online reservations and you need to arrive knowing that you might be on the waitlist. But with a little patience, you will be rewarded handsomely.
My favorite part however, is that when the tourists flock into Santa Rosa Beach, the owner and his wife shoot off on grand Summer adventures elsewhere and close that little shop for most of June and July. The reason being that they belong to an elite set of restaurants that are able to fill every cover throughout the week with locals for the rest of the year.
With that rare combination of great food, ambience and personal service, they don’t even need the summer rush.

Friendly greeting the moment we walked in. Fantastic staff. Very good sushi and teriyaki bowls. We ate so quickly, the photos are just crumbs. Surf & Turf roll, Tarzan, Danny rolls were all tasty. We also liked the iced green tea.

Best sushi spot in town by far and wonderful owners – all the reviews about the signs and togo order stuff are from tourists. It’s a small restaurant, they are busy and their guidelines are to help the service for the people who come in to dine and enjoy the menu. I highly recommend the sashimi salad and the smoking hot roll (not on the menu but just ask).

At the entrance we were met by cheeky signs with inscriptions like “if you don’t like it, leave”, “don’t tell me how to do my job”, we thought that they probably cook incredibly deliciously since they allow themselves such an attitude towards customers. But we were very disappointed, the rolls fell apart as soon as we took them. The roll with eel was not with eel but with eel skin, without meat. We ordered to go, for this they charged us 10% for what we take with us, but they didn’t even put a mold for the sauce. In general, this is definitely not the place if you go to eat delicious sushi.

Finally got to try this spot — SOOO good.
Everything was so fresh! Fiancée who’s usually very particular about his sashimi/ nigiri loved his orders so much! We cleared our plates in no time.
The service was awesome! They were just happy to have us and honestly every customer.
We will definitely be coming back whenever we visit Destin! Please keep up the good work <3

Go here. Full stop. You will not regret it. This was the best sushi we’ve had in years! We recommend the Sim roll and viagara roll. You will not find a better sushi restaurant in the area and the staff are amazing. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you to Andy and staff for an amazing dinner and experience for our family.

The sushi is amazing and fresh here and they also have a large number of other great dishes to go along with it. The owner is also very friendly and greets everyone who comes in. We got the sashimi deluxe and we’re treated to an amazing spread of fresh and flavorful fish! The udon was great as well. I almost missed ordering the grilled squid, but saw it on their specials on the chalkboard at the last second and I’m glad I did because it was delicous! We will certainly be back the next time we are visiting Destin. Do yourself a favor and choose to eat here if you love sushi!

Whenever I am there I typically get sashimi and then ask for the Chef’s recommendation for the sushi rolls – We trust them more than we trust ourselves , everything is always delicious.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We started eating before I remembered to take a photo. The panhandle roll (spicy) is off the chain!!! So good.

Warning: do not go there unless you want to have the best sushi meal of your life! On top of a great meal and cozy atmosphere, the staff is so friendly! This is our favorite place to eat in the area.
