They just opened and is currently offering 20% off your bill. We went on a Friday night. The place is smaller than the other location so we decided to just take it to go since there is hardly anyplace to sit. There were a lot of people. You place your order on the kiosk.
Their food is as good as the other location. We ordered chicken fried rice, pork and cabbage dumplings, shrimp with pork potstickers (my favorite), thumb-size pan fried pork bun (daughter’s favorite), honey walnut shrimp (too much mayo), Thai milk black tea, and taro boba tea (boba was hard).
They were very busy with the onslaught of orders so I’ll cut them some slack since they just opened. Their takeout bags are cute and reusable.
Ning was a fantastic host; very warm, friendly, and welcoming. Definitely a place that suits a Pearland crowd.
We will be coming back for sure – highly recommended.
It’s a small place, but the menu is surprisingly big with so many options to choose from. You can really tell a lot of care went into it.
The lady in the front (not sure if owner or not) was working nonstop because there were so many orders coming in — honestly, mad respect. She was very apologetic throughout the day, never angry or frustrated. Even with how busy it was, the food came out amazing, it was worth the wait. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love.
So happy to see a new local spot doing well. Definitely coming back and highly recommend checking it out!
Posting a half-eaten pic of the sambal fried rice because I didn’t even think about taking a photo until it was almost gone. That alone says enough.
This is fresh, made-to-order cooking, not fast food. If there’s a wait, it’s because the kitchen is actually cooking. Staff answering phones are clearly handling online and call-in orders, especially for a brand-new spot.
If you’re looking for speed over quality, this probably isn’t your place. If you want great dumplings and real flavor, 88 Dumpling House is absolutely worth it. We’ll be back.
They had a variety of dumpling choices and even noodles/entrees. I think the price is reasonable. I really enjoyed the taste and texture of the dumplings. I got the Four-color Dumpling Platter (chicken Onion And Mushroom Pork And Three Delicacies (shrimp Pork And Chives) Beef And Cabbage) which was $8.99 for 8 pieces and the Spicy Hot Pot Soup Dumpling with 4pcs for $7.99. For the drink I decided to try the Strawberry Matcha Bobo Cloud for $5.99.
My favorite was the spicy hot pot soup dumplings it was very flavorful and had a hint of spice, 5 stars on that. The colorful dumplings were aesthically cute and also flavorful but I think that was more of a 4 star, I’m not a big fan of onions. The onion taste isn’t strong but I think that’s what threw off the flavor for me, it was a tolerable flavor I would’ve never guessed it was in there.
The boba wasn’t it. It was okay I’ll give it 2 stars. It just tastes like they threw in some strawberry puree in it and I didn’t really taste the matcha flavor at all. It tasted more like milk than matcha. The tapioca did have a nice texture at least, not too soft and not hard.
It did take quite awhile to get my food. It was about 36 minutes. It was busy but not too crowded. I think it’s because there is only like 3 staff members I’m not entirely sure why it took so long.
– Poor ventilation; smoke detector went off at one point (you’ll leave the place with a smokey smell on your attire)
– Limited personal space, since tables/chairs are crammed near each other
– Order at kiosk. Ended up being 30+ min wait for food
– Food ranked: chicken pot stickers (best) > thumb size pan fried pork bun > black truffle soup dumpling (lacked soup…) > spicy pork wonton in chili oil (worst, salty & no kick to it)
Tried the food once, but I wouldn’t dine here again.
