Java Jacks is a cute place in Tappahannock. But don’t be deceived as we were into thinking this was a coffee shop. Nope. This is a full service cafe. I mean, you could get coffee to go, but if you want to sit and have coffee, it comes with waitress service. Because of the time of day (10:30 AM), we could order breakfast or lunch. The waitress was very nice. I really liked the sweet potato pancakes. If you are ever in that area in the morning, or crossing the 360 bridge, stop in for a bit. The parking lot is tight though, and it didn’t seem that street parking was allowed on the side street. They even had a sign up not to park in the lot across the street for a neighboring business. You might have to go over to Church street, park there and walk back.

Went with a group of friends! One of them is a local and really wanted to take us there for our first time! The food was not too bad! The drinks seemed to be a hit with everyone! My local friend said the sweet tea was amazing, so I had mine with raspberry. Partly my own fault, but you do need to mix it before drinking it or you might get a mouth full of syrup flavoring! I got the Philly cheese steak sandwich which wasn’t too bad! Almost needed a bit more cheese, and I should’ve asked for peppers to be added for $0.50. I ordered a side of waffle fries with it and they were also not bad! Felt like it needed some more salt, but there was some on the table I could use. Two of my friends gave me a picture of their food, so those I tagged onto this! One of them is the grilled cheese of some sort! She said it also wasn’t bad and she actually liked the lighter salt on her waffle fries. I might try that one the next time I’m in the area!

I can always count on delicious food here. It tastes like proper home cooking but with that artisan glare that takes it above and beyond most restaraunts. There is nothing that feels fake or forced, just good quality food people and atmosphere. I ordered a “flight” of lattes! What a great way to open the senses up to trying different types without just having one big one. I am a vegetarian, my husband is not. I really appreciate all the options and accommodations at well. I got the deluxe breakfast sandwich without the ham and it was delicious! Hubs got the country fried steak and cleaned his plate!
Also there is a very special person that works here. He once gave me a note and it may of saved my life. He is a special human and you are lucky if you run into him!

I was taking my favorite leisurely route home to the DMV via Rt.17 and stopped in for lunch. It was moderately busy at noon when I walked in and grabbed a small table by the window. Service was great, the coffee amazing, and I enjoyed the Rueben panini with sweet potato fries and a flat white.

We ha e been wanting to try Java Jacks for a while now and now O just wish we had sooner. I got the eggs Chesapeake which was outstanding and the coffee flight we had was a fun way to try something different. To make the food even better, our server Chandler was awesome and very friendly. This will definitely not be our last time.

My best friend and I decided to give this place a try, and I’m glad that we did. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant and made us feel welcome. I got the create your own omelette. It comes with these potatoes, not sure what to call them (home fries, hash browns, or fried potatoes) and Jacks, which are similar to beignets. Everything was delicious.

Great spot to get coffee. The caramel cookie chai was unbelievable. I can’t stand chai and enjoyed this one. Food was great as well sausage grave and a deluxe jack sandwich!
