The food was great! We ordered the California burritos. I had shrimp and my husband had chicken for meat choices. They handmade their tortilla chips and salsa dip. I normally don’t eat the chips, but they were so good.
Be aware burritos are huge. The pictures do not do them justice. We had to take the second half of our burritos home. They were worth it! The restroom is a family style restroom. They accommodate everyone so be aware when you go to use it.

Luis Mexican is a no frills restaurant. With that said, their food is delicious! We got their esquite corn appetizer and some taco plates. We were given a basket of chips while we waited… this is where the fun began.
They have a little bar with a variety of hot sauces and pickled vegetables. My wife and I love hot stuff and we rarely find something that is truly hot. Their extremely hot sauce is just that and delicious.
Our taco plates came out in 5-6 minutes. They were hot and fresh. Lots of meat and doubled up corn tortillas. We enjoyed them very much.

The birria tacos were great and almost had a charred taste to them. The nachos were bigger than expected and were also delicious with a mix of various cheeses. The only thing that would have improved my experience would be if I had my buddy Jame and a cracked Modelo.

This is an extension of the Luis’ restaurant off of Watson. Same GREAT food and service. The restaurant is a bit small, but the food is excellent. I’m so glad they opened this new location. Don’t hesitate to give this restaurant a try.

My favorite place for street tacos. The al pastor is DELICIOUS! I love their salsa bar too! They also have a freezer full of Mexican ice creams and treats.

I went to Luis Restaurant around 8:47 PM after soccer practice to grab something to eat. The lady at the counter told us they couldn’t serve us. I understand that everyone has a life after work, but if your restaurant’s posted closing time is 9:00 PM, then service should be available until that time. It’s disappointing to be turned away early. My family and I will not be returning.

I ordered menudo and caldo de res (beef soup). The menudo was good but the caldo de res had only one piece of meat. For $14.99, it should have more beef. Very disappointing.
