I came here based on a recommendation from a former employee. I ordered the crawfish beignets and king catfish. The beignets were chewy and I felt like I tasted more breading than crawfish. The catfish had no flavor and wasn’t seasoned well. My hostess was very nice, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I’ll have to try another menu item before I finalize my opinion on the food overall.

Atmosphere was a fail tonight. Very bright as all the wait staff forgot to turn down the lights. I brought 4 guests here tonight to show off the ambiance, service and food of my local hometown restaurant. The waitress was either not trained or just cold and attentive (Knai). Water glasses were empty all night. The small pitcher of warm water placed for 5 guests was not enough to fill our 8 oz glasses half way. Long wait every time we asked for water, not good for cajun cuisine. Pasta was dry and the shrimp was well overcooked. The mocktail was nice and the etouffe flavorful. I don’t like to leave negative reviews but the waitress made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome…

Upon entering the restaurant on Friday evening, my dining companion and I were immediately greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We began our culinary journey with an order of the Delta Ribs, which proved to be a tantalizing starter. The ribs possessed a unique flavor profile reminiscent of Asian barbecue, offering a delightful twist on a classic dish.

For our main course, we opted for the Gumbo Yaya, a dish I wholeheartedly recommend to any patron. While not excessively spicy, the gumbo delivered a subtle yet satisfying kick, making it the perfect comfort food for a cold day. The nuanced heat added a layer of complexity to the dish without overpowering the palate.

To conclude our meal, we indulged in the White Chocolate Pecan Bread Pudding. Although a delectable dessert in its own right, I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of curiosity about the banana pudding, which I suspect may have been the superior choice.

Overall, our dining experience was both satisfying and memorable. The establishment offers a diverse menu with dishes to please a variety of palates. I am eager to return and sample other culinary creations in the future.

The food was absolutely delicious and amazing! When I first arrived it took forever to be greeted even after having reservations. The server made up for it though! He was really nice and knows what he’s doing. He had so many tablets alone and was handling them all. The shrimp and grits were the best ever. The bread pudding was delicious as well! Its small inside and I’ve never liked parking downtown. I’ve already told my friends about this place and I will be back! Bad parking or not, it’s worth the fight lol. I can’t remember the name of the dish my sister had but it was just amazing!!! I highly recommend this place!

Wonderful food. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic service. The etouffee was incredible. The boudin balls are a perfect appetizer. The service was incredible. The music choice was also awesome with a lot of great New Orleans artists like the Revival Brass Band and The Meters.

Visited for the first time before a show at Tanger and it did not disappoint! We had the gumbo, crab cakes, and banana pudding. Everything was absolutely delicious and good serving sizes. Our server was attentive and provided great drink recommendations. We’ll be back to try more of the menu!

We came here for my brother’s birthday and he enjoyed it. I got the Shrimp étouffée and the shrimp was very flavorful. My friend got the Shrimp and grits and we all agree, that was the best. We took the sausage out because we don’t eat pork and it didn’t take away from overall flavor. My brother got the steak and he said it was delicious.

We made a reservation and were seated promptly upon arriving. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The fettuccine was wonderfully seasoned. We will definitely be back!

I love me some Cajun/creole food. Let me tell you, I have not found a place to make authentic crawfish etoufee in years. It was sooo good. We also got the duck nachos, which were honestly a little lack-luster. They were six tortilla chips topped with duck and some kind of cream sauce, with the chimmichurri underneath. The chimmichurri was really good but without that the nachos were bland. My husband got the crawfish fettuccine which he said was amazing. We also both got a couple different drinks, but pictured is the big south margarita, the jeansboro mule, and the creole bourbon smash. All really good. The service was slow, not sure why, but wasn’t a huge deal. The place is very tight and cozy, we sat by the window and my back was against the reception desk (or whatever it’s called) which was unusual but was fine for me. They light a nice little candle on the table which is cute. Also, when trying to decide whether to order the etoufee, I asked her how spicy it was, and they brought out a sample! Never heard of a restaurant do that before which was really awesome. We didn’t do dessert, the only dessert options were banana pudding and bread pudding. But I’d definitely come back here again.

Was recommended by a good friend! I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was a great place to go before heading over to the Tanger center! Brought my NOLA friend with me, reserved my spot ahead of time and while service was slow it was perfect because it allowed us to catch up and review the menu! Our waiter was very kind and looked like he was running multiple jobs so we weren’t too worried about the slow down. We both got the crawfish fettuccine and two cocktails. I was highly impressed by the amount of crawfish in my dish and was happy they were able to remove all bacon/pig products easily! That was the best pasta dish I’ve had in a VERY long time! I may have to drive 2 hours again to go back and eat it again! The ambient lighting, close but not too close seating was perfect! It sounded like they even had live music at one point. The place is small and cozy but well worth reserving a spot at! I’m not sure how other nights are but this is the place to go if you’re not in a hurry and wanting to enjoy your company! My NOLA friend was impressed and we wanted to try the banana bead pudding but just missed it as they had run out! She said she would be back though just to try it!
