Social Profile:

Big Fin Poké is a family-owned, Hawaiian-inspired poke restaurant founded in Westbrook, Maine in 2016. We are proud to be among the first poke restaurants in the state of Maine. With over 30 years of combined kitchen and restaurant experience, our family is passionate about fresh ingredients, simple flavors, and quality food made with care. Inspired by our Hawaiian friends and island-style poke, we offer customizable poke bowls, takeout, and fast-casual dining for the local community. What began on Main Street in Westbrook later moved to Rock Row in 2021 and has since grown to serve guests at multiple locations. We’re grateful to continue serving the Greater Portland area and beyond with fresh, satisfying poke every day.

Big Fin Poke is easily one of the best poke spots around! Their bowls are always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully put together. The torched salmon bowl is my absolute favorite — such a unique twist and loaded with delicious flavor, especially when you add extra salmon. Every bite tastes high-quality and perfectly balanced. You can tell they really care about what they serve. Definitely a go-to spot for anyone who loves amazing poke!

I guess I’ll be the odd one out on reviews.

Service was great, and the establishment is nice and clean, which is a huge plus. But for the price, I left still hungry and that’s frustrating. I’m a small girl too, and it just wasn’t filling. I got the chicken build your own, and the chicken was dry… I got two sauces which even when tossed into the chicken, it was less than flavorful and chicken was still dry. I do appreciate them mentioning upcharges (like avocado). Pricey for what you get.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for weeks, and I’m overall just not crazy satisfied. Guess I’ll need a second dinner tonight.

Tldr: great raw tuna bowls with balanced veggies and fish. Fast and efficient service.

We got the spicy tuna and shoyu bowl. Both were delicious and had good combinations of sides and veggies. They didn’t load the bowl full of rice either which was good. We also got the ika karaage (deep fired squid) which was good but was too small. Overall great place for a quick healthy bite.

The food is really good. They have good combinations but it easy to build your own meal by saying what you want as you move down the line. They have the ingredients listed on the wall and right on the window in front of you, so the process is easy. I’ve always gotten a rice bowl and more than half the dish will be rice so the price does feel high especially since there is an added cost for multiple items. The shoyu sauce is yummy, but with the amount of rice I never feel like there is enough sauce. So order extra if you like things more coated! Plenty of parking and fast service.

This place is great. I love the build your own bowl so you can get exactly what you want. It’s sort of like a subway restaurant in that you go down a line and you choose size, sauce, protein, mixins and toppings. Prices are fair in the food is fresh and delicious. Really interesting drink selection too.

First time Big Fin Poké consumer and I enjoyed it. So nice to have a non-fried meal, it’s kind of like a Chipotle (Mexican chain) but with a Hawiian bent, so it’s a bit new & refreshing. No real complaints about this place however there was a small communication issue due to language and accents which was fairly minor. Also, ingredients were good for ‘chain food’ though if higher quality ingredients were used i think it would be outstanding (but, then that’s increased cost). Everything was clean and bright. I’d have it again.

I stopped here to get my son a healthy dinner and decided to get something myself. Wow! So glad that I did. The flavor and freshness was outstanding! So much better than other restaurants in the area. I definitely recommend.

Tried this place for the first time on the suggestion of a coworker. Overall I found it enjoyable and would go back. The portion sizes were reasonable for the prices though I could not discern a noticeable difference between regular and large. The fish was fresh tasting and the toppings added a good variety of textures to something has a big possibility to be a bowl of mush. The restaurant is counter service which helps cut down the cost a little and they do have beer. Parking is easy which is always a plus. The staff did not seem very engaging or that helpful for a first timer and it feels very much like a factory line once you order as your bowl is passed down. Like I said over all it was good and I would go back, but I’m not in any rush

Obsessed. Huge portions, great prices, and so freaking fresh!

We’ve been going to Big Fin Poké for a while now and we honestly can’t get enough. We love the build-your-own-bowl options and are always impressed by the amount of toppings, proteins, and sauces that they have available.

The large bowl comes with 3 proteins, which is quite generous. You can choose from seafood items like tuna, salmon and shrimp or even chicken and beef.

For around $16, you’ll get you quite a protein packed bowl. I also love that for the bases I can do half rice and half salad! I can never decide between the two, so being able to get both is a huge win in my book.

Every time we’ve gone we do takeout and the food is always fresh and prepared quickly. The restaurant itself has plenty of parking, so picking up an order is quite easy.

The one thing I don’t like is that avocado is an extra $1.25, ha!
