My husband got the Leña y Mar and I haven’t seen him that happy while eating a meal in a long time. He was smiling the whole time haha The enchilada sauces stole the show and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection.
I got the carne asada plate and also loved it all. Dessert was my favorite though, we got the chocolate cake!! We dug in before I remembered to get a good photo. I’m excited to explore their dessert menu more in the future as well
The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice. The lighting was great and the decorations were top notch.
Showed up for lunch and it was delicious! Everything cooked to perfection and just delicious!
The Birria Grilled Cheese is probably the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had.
It is pricey, how it’s fancy and tastes amazing. So you don’t feel bad about the final bill.
Service was also incredible. My daughter asked for pickles for her burger and they grabbed some without issue.
Now we gotta come back and try their dinner menu!!!
Food had great flavor, good presentation, and was surprisingly filling. I ordered the Leña y Mar plate with my steak medium rare but it came out more on the rare side, not a big deal since it was actually still pretty good but something to keep in mind. The lobster and shrimp enchiladas were interesting but actually quite tasty. Wife ordered the carne asada plate, also quite tasty. Meat was pretty tender, but other than that it’s a fairly straightforward dish. Kind of wish the presentation on the tortillas was better since it was just wrapped in foil (compared to the rest of the plating just felt lack luster) and got cold quite fast. Highly recommend both plates.
Also got the desert bloom (with Mezcal) and the Sol de Flor (with Tequila) drinks. Desert bloom was a bit too sweet and “syrupy” for my taste but was better once it got watered down. Not sure what mezcal was used but could only taste a hint of it in the drink, probably due to how sweet the rest of the drink was. The Sol de flor drink was quite good and refreshing. There’s some dried flower garnish on the glass that makes a bit of a mess but not a big deal.
Honestly, most of the visit was great except for the service. Our server didn’t give enough time from when we sat down to look at the menu to order food so we asked for a minute to look at the drink menu. Guess the server took this as “I’ll come back in 10 minutes”. Once he came back his attitude was more stand offish. He tended to disappear for a really long period of time, checked in once throughout the whole meal before completely disappearing and then was nowhere to be found at the end of the meal. Considering how empty the restaurant was (maybe 5 other people there at the time), there really wasn’t an excuse for how poor the service was. I’d understand if he was having an off night but it felt more intentional given how he interacted with other tables. A different server ended up cleaning our table, giving us boxes, offering dessert, and checking us out. She was great and I wished we had her serving us instead.
A bit of a bummer that the service was so poor considering how good the rest of the experience was, just puts a damper on the visit. As long as you don’t get the same server, I’d say it’s worth a visit.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish tasted authentic and full of flavor, truly honoring Sonoran Mexican cuisine. You can tell the ingredients are high quality and prepared with care. From presentation to taste, everything was outstanding.
Thank you to the amazing staff and especially our waitress for making this such a special night. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Ocotillo to anyone looking for authentic Sonoran Mexican flavors and excellent service ✨
Service was polite and attentive, and the food was delicious! A lot of great menu options and they served chips and salsa with beans, which was nice.
A great place to go for an anniversary. They brought us a complimentary dessert!
We have eaten these ingredients all through our lives, but never had them put together in this way. Absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation.
This is going to take many visits to get through the impressive menu.
If you want to treat your special one to an excellent breakfast or lunch or dinner, think of Ocotillo first, and you will not be disappointed.
Polished, professional service, to the 9s!
The chef is an absolute artist and has terrific imagination and creativity.
The atmosphere is, of course, clean, comfortable, a finely crafted art style suggesting a natural setting. Even the music is pleasant and encourages happy dialog at your table.
Sad only, because we are from Michigan, and can only eat here after 1,500 miles of travel. You better believe they’re going to be on our visit list.
The guacamole with the tortillas and chips , the beans, the salsa—just everything was amazing . I had the steak enchiladas and the meat was so tender and juicy . My husband ordered the bone marrow tacos and they were absolutely incredible!
The space is very elegant ️ and the vibe made the meal even more special. The staff was out of this world —so warm and attentive.
We honestly can’t wait to bring our family back . I hope this place never changes. It is so good! Highly, highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Do not miss out!
