If you’re looking for authentic Korean food in Orlando, I highly recommend Surah on Dr. Phillips Blvd.

We originally came in hoping to try the braised beef short rib special , but unfortunately it had already sold out for the night. Instead, we went with the galbi and honestly, no regrets at all. The galbi was perfectly marinated, tender, and packed with flavor. Easily a 5/5.

We also ordered the bulgogi and fried chicken wings, and both were just as impressive. The bulgogi was savory, slightly sweet, and cooked perfectly.

The fried chicken wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and absolutely addictive.

I give it a 4/5

One of my favorite parts of the experience was the banchan. The kimchi had the perfect balance of spice and tang, the fish cake was flavorful, the radish was crisp and refreshing, and the soy sauce peanuts and bean sprouts were the perfect complements to the meal. Every small dish added something special to the overall experience.

Even though we missed out on the short rib this time, everything we tried was outstanding. Great flavors, great variety, and definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Highly recommend if you’re in the Dr. Phillips area!

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

I would give this place a 4.5 , we had the veg & pork mandu dumplings and they were good. We also ordered the braised short ribs for two which was a great dish, tender , flavorful and still moist all the way thru. For the end we got the hotteok for desert which could be best described as somewhat churro like in flavor and texture. The only critique I have that prevented me from giving it a 5 is that our waitress was hard to find when needed and really didn’t check in on us much thru dinner. Another smaller critique is that I wish the Banchan side dishes were a bit higher quality and the assortment a little bit bigger to choose from , say compared to Shin Jung kbbq across town

I booked a reservation online for my birthday and got to enjoy some amazing food with large portions.

Service: amazing!!! Everyone who served us took the time to explain the food, recommended how to cook, and provided wonderful conversation throughout the meal. I also adored the personalized sign to welcome the reserved group to their table. It’s not something I’ve seen many other places do, but it made all the difference in my experience! I also loved the Kpop Christmas songs. Very chill and helped with ambiance.

Food: we did the Korean bbq and loved the cuts of meat used. It felt more elevated than other experiences I’ve had at Korean bbq in miami, Tampa, Chicago and other cities I’ve traveled to. The banchan was good, on the milder side than I am used to but it worked out perfectly for my group that cannot handle spice.

I found out this restaurant because Ateez visited and what stood out for me is that the three members who visited day 1 chose to come back the next day. That’s the main part I want to emphasize is that this is a restaurant you will want to come back to.

We’re from New Jersey and are very picky eaters, and we almost never write reviews, but this place really impressed us. We were asked to wait 20 minutes, but were seated within 15, which was a great start.

The banchan, fish cake, radish kimchi, salad (omg the dressing with olive oil!!!), and peanuts tasted homemade. I cook Korean food myself, so I know how much time goes into making them properly. Many restaurants cut corners, but these clearly didn’t.

The prime ribeye was excellent. It was very flavorful, well-marbled, and $45 felt very reasonable. The LA galbi was thick-cut with great marbling. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

Hospitality was one of the best we’ve experienced. Many Asian restaurants struggle to match Western standards of service, but this place absolutely delivered friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere make this restaurant stand out. We’ve had Korean food in NYC/NJ/LA and elsewhere, and this place definitely holds its own. We’ll be back for sure.

The BEST korean food in orlando!! Drove about 40 minutes to Surah from east orlando and it was definitely worth the drive 🙂 The food was AMAZING. The servers were super friendly and one of the owners Angie was really sweet and often stopped by our table to serve/chat with us. We’ll definitely be stopping by again!! ❤️

Surah of Orlando deserves the 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I gave to them!!!!! I wish I could give 10 stars !!! So I decided to celebrate my 41st birthday here because I wanted delicious authentic Korean food because I enjoy watching Korean dramas ☺️. I’ve wondered what the food tastes like. After viewing other customers reviews and Surah’s menu I decided this is the place to try authentic Korean food!!! From the moment I walked into the restaurant the team greeted me with warm smiles and gave excellent customer service! They showed us to our table and I saw the sweetest thing they made a birthday sign for me that was written in both English and Korean , it was so beautiful!!! I loved the sign so much that my husband asked to purchase it as a souvenir , and they kindly allowed me to purchase it!! The food was phenomenal, so much flavor and huge portions!! We ordered the honey garlic wings, pork stir fry, braised beef short ribs, bibimbop with the hot stone and Korean bbq short ribs all cooked by the chef. It was so delicious and the service was so excellent that we will definitely be returning!!

We ordered two servings of “Prime” ribeye, steamed egg, and one cold buckwheat noodle dish. Despite there being only three tables occupied, it took quite a long time for the food to come out.

– The noodles were clumped together, difficult to separate, and tasted very bland.

– The steamed egg wasn’t puffy or soft at all; it was literally just a solid slab of cooked egg (Koreans will understand what I mean).

– As for the “Prime” ribeye… see the photo for yourself :/ Uneven cuts with a thick, irregular fat cap, very poor marbling balance, and oxidized. Serving and pricing it at $45/slab for this level of quality is unacceptable.

Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. We still paid a 20% tip for the friendly service, but the kitchen does not do the restaurant justice. Their most expensive raw ingredient was clearly sub-par, which raises concerns about the quality of the rest of the menu. Unless there is significant improvement in kitchen standards, I would not recommend this restaurant.

SURAH was an amazing experience, for both newcomers and regulars to Korean cuisine. A higher level of quality is present compared to the usual kbbq spots, the flower pork belly was the best we’ve had, but the real stars are the a la carte dishes. We had mandu, tteokbokki, soondubu jjigae, and bibim naengmyeon, as well as beef belly. They were all excellent and an amazing representation of Korean cuisine. We also had the pleasure of meeting Angie, one of the co-owners who helped serve our table. She was really sweet and very courteous in explaining what SURAH was about and more about Korean cuisine and culture. 5 out of 5 stars experience.

Excellent Korean food and amazing service. We had to travel 30 minutes to get here but it was definitely worth it. Best japchae and teobokki. Loved the kimchi stew. The meat combo 2 was high quality and the owner gave great assistance and instructions on the grill. As a wimpy American the spice level was good. We brought a newbie and she loved it all. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
