This is a very casual dining experience but the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered butter chicken, goat biryani, and veggie samosas and it was enough food for 6 people easily. The meat was so tender and everything was full of flavor and amazing! The owner talked to us and was so friendly. We will definitely be back soon!

AMAZING food! It’s inside a grocery store so you wouldn’t think the food is that great but you will be surprised. We got the plain dosa, Mysore masala dosa (spicy but GREAT), paneer butter malasa (AMAZING), mendu vada (great), & garlic naan (okay). They even have complimentary Indian tea which was terrific as well! Overall, loved the food & so happy we decided to come here.

We reached late at 10 pm on sat and they were still open

The restaurant is inside a middle eastern/ Indian grocery store.

We got the goat haleem which was very tasty, Idli, garlic naan, and roti. Tea was free!

The place is old and looks dirty but food was great.

It took about 10 min to get the order.

Highly recommended.

I would rate this place a 10/10 . Unlike other restaurants I’ve noticed the food is really fresh and more quantity. Chicken dum biryani is the best and taste like homemade biryani with less masala and fresh chicken

This is the best Indian restaurant! Especially the chicken masala — it’s amazing with spicy sauce and fresh bread. Everything is made to order, very clean, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Wow im so disappointed with this place. I ordered nan and paneer. The nan was sooo old and hard it couldnt even be pulled apart. It was hard as a ROCK. The paneer was dry and tasted old and the portion was all sauce mostly.

I ordered biryani two days ago, but the rice was fully mixed and overcooked. If the food is not freshly prepared, please do not take orders. Customers order food to enjoy a proper meal.

Excellent and authentic South Indian food. Service is great. They can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, Jain and no onion no garlic options.
Y’all can move to a place with better, prime location

Memphis Indian Restaurant in Tennessee is a hidden gem serving authentic and flavorful Indian food.
The biryani, samosas, and chili chicken are must-try dishes packed with spice and freshness.
Staff are friendly, helpful, and quick with service.
Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous.
Overall, it’s a great spot for real Indian taste in a cozy setting.

1/5 — Worst Experience, Not Worth the Drive or Money

I drove all the way from Corinth to Memphis (3-hour round trip) just to try Memphis Indian Restaurant, expecting good quality food but it was a complete disappointment.

I ordered three biryanis: Chicken 65 Biryani, Mutton Pulav, and Mutton Sukka Biryani. Both mutton dishes were absolutely terrible — dry, flavorless, and tasted nothing like authentic biryani. The meat quality was poor, and it felt like it wasn’t even freshly prepared.

They charged me $76.48 for just three biryanis, which is outrageous considering the quality. Chicken 65 Biryani was the only one that was somewhat okay, but overall, the experience was one of the worst I’ve had at an Indian restaurant in the U.S.

Definitely not worth the long drive, the money, or the hype. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place if you care about real taste and value for your money.
