Great food. Great service. They have a lot of great options but not a huge classic diner menu. More interesting. Polenta fries… Turnkey Ruben. Nice bfast bowls. Chowder. Great lunch stop.

First time visit. I drive by all the time but never had a chance to stop until recently. Steak sandwich as the special was great, tafioca pudding to go was great. Very happy I finally stopped in.

One of my favorite diners! Its a bit of a drive so I cant always go but its something I always make sure to visit when I’m in the area :] Food is always top notch, the waffle is my favorite (though I forgot to take a photo), but the milkshake is delicious too! And the decor is fun !

Went way out of our way to try it out on a whim. Way out of our way by RI standards, so like 25 minutes. The place has an apocalypse cafe motif. It’s totally tame, not like a Mad Max diner. Just a couple of cool decor items that make the place look different than anywhere else. It’s really well decorated, to be honest. They have a theme and the place fits it exactly. On to food. Three things I have to say: polenta fries, polenta fries, and polenta fries. So good. We ordered some basic entrees and they were anything but. This place seriously plated our meals and gave a crap about what they looked like when they came out. Totally affordable. Not even close to being pricey. Absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way by being friendly and truly caring about what they did.

Been driving by here for 7 months since moving to CT. So happy we finally stopped. Wife had clam cakes and chowder and loved it. I had the burger and fries, omg the fries are phenomenal. Will definitely be stopping here regularly.Oh, and you cant beat the prices either. Great place!

What a great diner! Like walking in a time machine back to the 70-80’s. We sat at the counter and got greeted right away. The staff was extremely friendly. We chatted a little and then figured out what we wanted. I got the blueberry pancakes. They were pretty large, fluffy, and packed with blueberries. I also got a side of home fries. Food came pretty quick and hot. Great tasting. They have an outdoor ice cream walk-up window. Few picnic tables to sit. Even a little playground for the kids. This is a must stop! Lots of parking. Prices were very reasonable.

Words can’t begin to describe how much I love this restaurant, but I’ll try anyways. My family and I stopped at this restaurant on our way home from Mohegan Sun and we enjoyed it more than the casino. The service was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and the food was outstanding! Any time I am within a 45 minute drive at this restaurant I will make it a point to go out of my way to stop and grab a bite. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve driven by this diner for years. I always wanted to stop and check it out. It looks so cool and nostalgic on the outside. I really wanted to see what was inside. Well, today, I was able to finally stop in and check it out. It surely didn’t disappoint. I love that classy diner style look. The staff was very welcoming. The food was delicious. I had the “Big Farm Breakfast.” A must-see place for yourself. Especially if you enjoy Diners. It’s a really cool spot. I am looking forward to visiting again in the future. Next time, I’ll try out the lunch menu.

A total must!!! We drove by it and had to look twice when it said “APOCALYPSE CAFE” all we could think was the new Fallout series and let me tell you how glad we were to stop and check them out!
The food was amazing, all tasted super fresh and very flavorful. The French Fries tasted nostalgic and even the soda was Crispy!
From the moment you see the sign to waiting for you food at your table you will be so entertained with all the hidden secrets in the decorations.
11 out 10 would recommend!!!
The staff and owner were super nice as well! Their services very person centered, even said bye to locals and clients by their names. Truly Shady Acres is a hidden gem!

First time there today. I read about the history and decided to try a traditional diner style breakfast on my way to CT. Lots of parking. Walking in it looked like a traditional diner. (ceiling looked pretty dingy.) It was seat yourself so I took a comfortable booth. I ordered the traditional – eggs, rye toast , home fries and ham. Food came quick- still hot. My disappointment came because they gave me one thin tiny slice of ham. Adding ham was 3.50. I think I got an 3/4 ounce piece. That’s the equivalent of paying $75 for a pound of ham. I get it- prices are high, but c’mon. Other than that everything was very simple and good food. Left a 30% tip and drove off full but not happy with the ham portion.
