Hello all! As the new owner of Smiling with Hope Pizza, I wanted to introduce myself! My name is Andrew Silvaroli, although I have lived in Reno since 1997, our family is originally from Buffalo, NY, so we take pizza, Italian food (especially cannoli), and football very seriously. It’s been a dream of ours to own and operate a true New York style pizzeria. I am a US Army Veteran and still serve in the Nevada Army National Guard. I have a passion for serving the community as a member of the Guard and look forward to collaborating with the community. I am looking forward to operating the pizzeria full time with the support of my family to create a friendly, family style pizzeria, like those we miss from back home in Western New …
Small, socially minded pizzeria with a warm vibe turning out NY-style pies, calzones & cannolis.

The service is excellent and the restaurant was very clean. SWH is a true gem
We got two large NY style pizzas, one with sausage, mushroom, and fresh basil, and one with pepperoni and mushroom. They both had excellent crust, crispy yet chewy, not too much cheese, and the pepperoni was natural casing so it cupped nicely. It was perfectly spicy and was pretty much a perfect pizza.
We got some of their cannoli for dessert, and the shells were very crisp and seemed homemade. The filling was lightly sweet with a good hint of cinnamon.
I’m sad I don’t live in Reno because they would be my go-to pizza place! Definitely go if you’re in town, you won’t be disappointed.
Came here after searching up best pizza spots in Reno and we definitely found it!
Snuggled in a strip mall – this spot is no frills, family friendly and Buffalo NY forward.
We had the garlic knots – just amazing. So flavorful and they use the crust from the pizza to make these which is the biggest highlight of this spot. The crust is just so so tasty.
We had a NY style pizza and it was the best. The sauce was so bold – the toppings highest of quality – the crust so delectable.
This spot is not to be missed. Best of Reno, easy!
I love pizza, but Reno is not exactly known for great food, especially when it comes to pizza. That is what makes this place stand out so much. This is not good for Reno pizza. This is just great pizza.
I honestly cannot believe there are not multiple Smiling Hope Pizza locations. If they opened one in South Reno, there would never not be a line. South Reno has a lot of pretty underwhelming food options, and this place would absolutely dominate.
Every bite felt intentional. The crust is dialed in, the toppings are balanced, and it is obvious they care deeply about quality and execution.
I am genuinely bummed it took me six years to find this place, but I am glad I finally did. Huge respect to the team. You are doing something special here and it shows.
We were told about this place through a friend and they said it was the best pizza in Reno, so as any sane person from Buffalo would do, I made a reservation…..
From the second you walk in the place is beautiful, they managed to pack the entire Queen City into that restaurant and I felt like I was sitting at a local pizza shop from back home. The culture and hospitality of those behind the counter was amazing and felt different even from what I’ve experienced in the last 4 years in Reno service wise!
The Food: If I could say what I wanted to say here my comment would be banned, so I’ll keep it light. The second that garlic knot hit my taste buds my pants needed changing, holding strong knowing I had to continue through this glorious adventure I found myself stuck stuffing my face with them like the grinch at a Christmas feast. My tiny feeble, overstimulated brain didn’t even remember we had pizza coming! But I saved room. The best way to describe the pizza without being flagged here…… another entire pant change, you know when you think you are out of gas but round two comes flying in out of nowhere? This was that first bite of the pizza! Additionally I was enjoying all of this meal with a CANADIAN IMPORT brew I was stuck in a trance of pure dopamine! Even warmed up after this pizza could rival any pizza shop in Reno! Can’t wait to see the future for these guys!
Anyone looking to experience some Buffalo NY style food needs to get in there, I promise you won’t want pizza from anywhere else in this city! Not going to lie, probably even coast!!! I cannot wait to come back and enjoy this amazing food again.
