For anyone looking for Seafood in or around Hickory, Kingfish & Oyster Bar on Fairgrove Church Rd is the Best seafood I’ve had in our area. Fish tastes very fresh and not previously frozen like most. Definitely prepared by someone that takes pride in what they do. Family owned and operated – Not a franchise. I had the grouper but forgot to take pics – phenomenal! This place definitely Did Not Disappoint!

After hearing several friends and family talk about how great this place was we visited Kingfish on 1/17/26 around 4:30pm and decided to try it for ourselves. We were welcomed and taken to our seats and promptly Alli/Allison our waitress was there with a smile to take our drink order and let us know the specials and make sure we were taken care of. After a few minutes of going over the menu I decided on the salt and pepper catfish and flounder with a baked potato and she had the flounder and shrimp with a salad. In just a very short time our meals were out and looked great. They were all made perfect and nothing left out or missing. The fish was hot flaky and tender and busting with flavor you could tell instantly this was very fresh and was of the highest quality. The shrimp was also very fresh and flavorful. Allison done an excellent job keeping us served with our drinks and anything we ask for during our meal. The portions were large and the prices were honest and fair. After our visit today I can say without a doubt we will quickly become regulars and look forward to returning for another Amazing visit and trying their Steaks and other items.

We tried this place for the first time today and it was delicious. I had the baby shrimp/chicken tender combo and my wife had the fried clams strips. Allie is an awesome server. She was perfectly friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back.
