Atmosphere: We had reservations, and were taken to the wrong table. Then we had to be moved to another room with another table. By the website, we assumed we would be in a semi elegant eating room, but it ended up being the kids room. There was a huge TV on the wall playing kids shows. Yes, we had an infant with us, but this made the environment very kiddie and less “nice” if that makes sense.
Service: Our server visited us one time and never brought refills. I had to go up to the front to find her and she was behind the bar talking. She filled my drink and brought it to me and it was Dr. Pepper. I absolutely cannot have sugar, and am on a medicine that makes me deathly sick if I have sugar with it. So I took it back up and another server brought me the correct drink. After that we never saw our server again. The chef was great and had great showmanshio, but didn’t know enough English to answer basic questions or food requests. I received undercooked scallops and undercooked shrimp. The food was not seasoned well and we had to add tons of stuff to it to make it taste good. I ordered filet, shrimp, and scallop hibachi. We spent an obscene amount of money tonight to only receive poor service, undercooked seafood, and a very kiddie like environment.
The three of us ordered dessert and I got the cookie butter banana pie. It was not good at all, and was pretty much served in a messy melted heap on my plate with zero presentation effort.
This was our first impression of this place and it was not great. We still left a tip for both the server and chef, but the server really didn’t work our table enough to justify how much we tipped her.
The sake was a bit strong and not really to my liking.
I would definitely go back and would like to try some of the other options they have on the menu.
The scenery is very inviting and nice to look at.
However, I’d like to highlight that when we dine in at the restaurant, the portions are much larger and feel worth the price. It seems there’s a big inconsistency between the dine-in and delivery experiences. I hope the restaurant considers improving the portion sizes for online orders to match the dine-in quality.
Taste: 5/5
Portion size for delivery: 2/5

I am happy with everything ..it was kind of very nice just until I saw a long strand of hair under my food…my excitement turns disappointment from 10 to 2.
Sorry but I am expecting absolute proper food preparations with server has to wore hairnet so hair would not be additional engredients I am asking my husband to comeback for Valentine’s date but since I loss my appetite i will just think about it maybe when I overcome my discouragement.
First off, my Teriyaki Shrimp came on a large bed of steamed broccoli and onion slices instead of the advertised vegetables is unacceptable. Not only did they fail to deliver what was promised, but the lack of variety in the dish is disappointing. Furthermore, the fact that the mud veins had not been removed from the shrimp shows a lack of attention to detail and quality control in the kitchen.
To add insult to injury, the fried rice I ordered was devoid of vegetables, which is a standard component of the dish. It’s hard to believe that a restaurant that claims to serve Japanese cuisine would overlook such a fundamental aspect of their menu item. Believe it or not, when we received the bill, we were charged EXTRA for the rice. Unbelievable.
Overall, my experience at Hayashi Japanese Steakhouse was shamed. Their kitchen staff is lazy. The quality of their dishes is disgusting. This restaurant falls short of expectations.
