I have been coming to place forever. They always have chips and salsa ready when you’re seated. I opted to get the buffet since it had a little bit of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed the mango margarita that lasted my entire meal. The chicken fajitas were yummy, fresh tacos with yellow rice. I got dessert to end off my meal. Waitress was nice enough to bag my tortillas and salsa (always take the chips). The lunch menu and specials during the week are worth going.

Excellent Mexican buffet, I always look for real and traditional flavors.
Amazing sopa de mariscos, you can find carnitas, chicken and beef fajitas, flautas, tortillas, frijoles refritos, you can make your own tacos , alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, mango mojito , delicious ice cream and the best churros I’ve try in a long time.
The only thing i don’t like from Mexican places in is the music…Tigres del Norte or Banda is not for me, other than that, I enjoyed my food so much that I didn’t have time to take more pictures.

Google Translate tells me that “La Tonalteca” translates to “The Fantastic”. Lol. This place is great. Atmosphere is really cool. You could spend days looking at all the awesome decor. Food is crazy good. Prices are reasonable. Service is amazing. Highly Recommend.

Beautiful building. Menu partially Spanish. Waitress couldn’t tell you what it said. Service so bad table of 8 left because they were ignored. Don’t think food was fresh. Have no clue about dietary restrictions. First time in 60 years I sent my dinner back and didn’t eat a meal. Others felt food they got wasn’t fresh.
Don’t know how they stay in business

Food was good and prices are average for this type of restaurant. The service was good and the server was nice. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The decor and setting are very well done, both inside and out; nice aztec/Spanish look. Feels like a real Mexican restaurant in Mexico. Located right off Dupont Hwy next to Taco Bell.

On 11/24/2025, my co-worker (boss) and I stopped to get lunch at this establishment. We walked in to have lunch and we wait for 20 minutes. The staff members even the owner of the restaurant completely ignored us and kept talking amongst themselves. Mind you, they just opened not even an hour and they still did not have customers nor did they acknowledge they had some because they were too busy talking about their personal lives on the clock. I used to go to this place when I was young, but after the current display recently, I will not recommend anyone to come here. Customers service goes a long way regardless if your “authentic food” is good or not. Horrible customer service and horrible work ethic. Be happy, I wasn’t someone who works for the state department that controls restaurant licenses.

I’d answer the other questions, but like I said, we didn’t get any SERVICE!

Authentic and comforting atmosphere, wonderful service, very nicely price to portion ratio. Took my Mexican husband here a few days ago and he was absolutely thrilled. Will definitely be going back!

Unfortunately, our visit was very disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being busy, it took over 30 minutes for our party of seven to even order drinks. One of our party’s food orders was completely forgotten, and after asking three different times to have it corrected, no one seemed to know what was going on. While some staff members tried to assist, the service overall was disorganized and unprofessional. It was a frustrating experience from start to finish.

The restaurant was packed as of Cinco De Mayo, which we already knew. The service was good as per Zuleka who was our waitress. The food was very good as for it being crowded and short staff. The restaurant has alot of historic features of Mexico. It was nice to see that. I probably come back when it’s not busy just to get a better experience.
