My new favourite restaurant in Wellington. I actually felt like I was on holiday in France. The food was phenomenal, intentional, and filling. The service was 10/10. It was an experience worth paying for and we will definitely be back. We paid $180 for 3 people including drinks, appetisers, mains, a side, and desserts which is beyond reasonable to me!

what a classic french experience! the manager and all the staff were incredibly friendly and professional, making the dining experience even better 10/10. I ordered the sirloin steak with fries cooked rare, and it arrived with the exact perfect texture I wanted just perfect. The skinny fries were crispy and delish on their own no dipping sauce needed, though I know they might frown if I dipped them in tomato sauce hahah! The parsley butter on the steak was the highlight looking at our photos makes me want another bite already
For dessert ofc i had the crème brûlée, which melted on my tongue gosh the flavours were so rich and memorable that my first bite had me appreciating every ingredient mnmm I felt genuinely thankful to experience such taste.
A truly wholesome authentic french restaurant! I will definitely be coming back to try more entrees, dishes, and desserts. thank you le bouillon bel air x

I’m half convinced that this is actually a front by the French government to spread good will for French culture. Never have I seen this many french speakers gathered in a restaurant to provide top food and service with genuine nicety. I may have come across one genuinely nice service every 5 restaurants in Paris or Montreal but here they had 3 lovely people serving us on the same day! Amazing

Authentic French fare, friendly service and a great atmosphere at prices which won’t break the bank – what’s not to like? We first visited Bouillon Bel Air during Burger Wellington and were blown away by their raclette burger. Decided to go again, this time for our wedding anniversary, to try more of the impressive dinner menu. Once again we were not disappointed. The food, decor, music and native French-speaking wait staff will transport you back to Paris – highly recommend this place!

Le Bouillon Bel Air was the most wonderful experience for my father’s birthday dinner. It was a little noisy, because it’s Christmas party season, but we expected that. The service was warm and generous, the restaurant is beautiful and welcoming, and the food was INCREDIBLE. I would recommend it to anyone. Genuinely thoughtful and creative menu, and I want to go back and try everything else on the menu.

The entire dining experience reminded us of our month long trip around France last Fall. The food and wine was delicious, and the staff even better. We ate and drank quite a bit, so you could easily spend half of what we did and still have a great meal.

Great introduction to all the classic French dishes at an affordable price. I was interested in trying French dishes such as beef bourguignon for the first time. Le bouillon was been recommended due to the range of classics and generous serving sizes. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will be back to try their other dishes!

After a disappointing experience at another supposedly well rated (and award winning) restaurant, I was hoping that I’d get a better experience and I was not disappointed at all.
The moment I entered, Clement, the manager, was welcoming and though I didn’t have a reservation, I managed to score a seat for myself. The servers were professional yet friendly, without any pretensions or snootiness. They were able to advise me because I’m alone but I wanted variety as well, so they suggested I try the set menu because it’s seasonal. With the wine choices, when Aurore was unable to advise me on the details of the wine, Clement came over to advise and I got to try my shortlisted choices of wine so I could decide. The food was really enjoyable, as expected, and beautifully presented. Aurore was attentive and anticipated the needs of the tables she was serving. And hats off to Clement who was on hand to coach the servers when needed. A good restaurant needs good management who is able to coach well.
The restaurant was really busy (unsurprising for a Friday night), so it’d be a good idea to make a reservation!
“Merci!” to the wonderful folks of La Bouillon Bel Air! Looking forward to retuning when I’m in Wellington again

Superb experience. La nourriture était délicieuse. Love the atmosphere and ambience. They got the authentic taste and flavour. Lovely restaurant but not pretentious which is great. The staff were so friendly too. They even let my son took home the paper they used to cover the tables 🙂 Merci beaucoup à tous. Nous reviendrons bientot!

Délicieux! Great place for lunch. The waiting staff were enthusiastic and friendly. There was a great selection of well-presented French food and drink and I could practise my French. The décor is nice and the concept of Bouillon restaurants in France is to make eating good food affordable.
