If you’re local, you know how amazing this place is, and if you’re a visitor let me explain to you
This place is one of the best restaurants you can dine at. The food is immaculate, service is top notch and the price is more than fair considering the quality!
My wife and I had the ribeye “Dave’s way.” This will be one of the best steaks you never knew you had to try The flavors are bold, and the steak just melts in your mouth. Everything starts with a head of lettuce and 4 salad dressings, french, clear, russian cream and caesar garlic. Dinner rolls are also included. We also ordered mushrooms and onions to go with the steak, both grilled to perfection. Lastly, you get a russet potato loaded with butter, I recommend also getting the cheese and chive topping in lue of sour cream.
While the food is fantastic, our server was the star of the show! Cyndy gave us 10 star service! It’s no surprise considering she has been serving her for 37 years wow! So attentive, very nice with a bright smile and clearly knows everything about this place!
Last thing I will note is that I ordered “The Robin.” An old fashioned with maple syrup, very tasty. As this was my birthday dinner we received a blackberry sundae
This supper club has been around since the mid 1956 and clearly has a vibe that fits that era. The inside charcoal grill is clearly what separates this place from almost anything else you will find.

Had a Porterhouse Steak and my colleague the Pork Chops. Additionally we took a Shrimp skewer to share.
We both liked the food and where happy. I think it’s one of the few best choices in the area.
The dressings for the salad where homemade and remarkable.

I drove up from Hickory NC to meet some local friends and do some grouse and duck hunting. In my travels, I asked a local to Rhinelander where is the best place to eat. They gladly told me about The White Stag, so I had dinner plans! Upon arrival they were super busy and I had to wait for a few minutes for a table. The staff was so overly attentive to my needs and very friendly. So much so that Tracy even discounted my drink, which was a special of the night, the Brewer Mule. It was AMAZING!!! Once I was sat at a table, Jessica was my waitress. She was phenomenal. She was so patient in explaining everything, as it was my first time and she was 10000% spot on. The salad and custom homemade dressings were to die for! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and the mushrooms were a must have addition. To say it was fulfilling is an understatement. I learned that Tracy and Jessica were mother and daughter, with their husband and father as the grill master. This family has sustained the restaurant for over 70 years!! Wow!!! What a testament and winning combination. This was the best whole meal / dining experience I’ve had that I can recall. I highly recommend 100%. You Will Not Be disappointed. It was an honor to enjoy such an exquisite meal steeped in family value and resilience. Well done!!! ✔️

Why have I not been here before!! Porterhouse steak was exceptional. Wedge said was more than enough. 3 house dressings all delicious. Cottage cheese whipped with chives amd seasoning was superb over the baked potato. The cornel brandy old fashioned sour was darn near perfect. Can’t wait to get back. Maybe to tonight!

Charcoal grilled steaks. You can really taste the charcoal. They do things simply and they do it well. You get a wedge salad with three choices of homemade dressings. You get a choice of potato. They have one dessert , ice cream sundaes. The bar opens at 4:00 p.m., cash only for the bar, and then they start seating at 4:30 p.m. I had the ribeye which was very good.

This supper club was recommended to us for a recent trip. I am giving 3 stars based on the total of each part.
4 stars – The bartender and my Makers OF Sour were excellent
.5 stars – The salad course is a joke. It was a whole head of iceberg lettuce quartered and served with 3 “house” dressings. We sampled all 3 and found all of them rather bland.
5 stars – The steak made up for the salad course. Our tenderloins were perfect (2 rare,1 med rare). The char grilled mushrooms and onions were well worth the $14. The only complaint I have is that there is no sour cream for the baked potato. They serve a blended cottage cheese and chive mix as a healthier option despite our server added 1/4 of a stick of butter to each. Weird texture for me.
Overall, the drinks and steaks are wonderful but the atmosphere and service (other than the bartender) was lacking. Personally for the price, there are other options to explore.

Ordered ribeye medium rare. It came more well done. Quality meat I think was so so. Charcoal flavor is Excellent. Cocktail was excellent. I think pricing is a little high. I understand it’s a tough business. I’m sure they’re trying their best.

What a great supper club in the Northwoods. This place is beautiful inside and out. Great food the salad and steak were great. The dressings for the salad are excellent. They also make a very good brandy old fashioned. Service was very nice and served quickly. If you’re into supper clubs don’t miss this one.

Feels authentic in regards to a traditional supper club. I grew up in the nortwoods and loved going to supper clubs with Grandma. Food is very supper club north and friendly. Old fashions are yummy ( nutmeg?!). We actually saw a albino buck the day we went there. ( not sure if that is relevant, just wanted to share).

A truly iconic northwoods supper club – we loved the warm wooden interior, friendly people, and simple yet delicious offerings.
No loud music to disrupt the quaint atmosphere. (More places would benefit from this approach.)
Also, the whiskey sour old fashioned is top-notch. I enjoyed one at the bar while we waited, plus another at the table. Hard to remember the last time we enjoyed such a calm, enjoyable environment. Will definitely return!
