Went to the thirsty buddy for Valentines day. Dinner with my sweetheart. It’s a bit off the beaten path outside of Gun Lake, Michigan.
The building and interior is decorated very nicely and is a very pleasant setting for dinner, especially outside in the igloo where we ate.
The service overall was well handled with the staff being very pleasant.
I really wanted the prime rib, but unfortunately had to send it back twice as they weren’t able to prepare it in any fashion other than well done. I then switched to the salmon which was good. What was excellent though was the roasted chicken, it was very tender and flavorful.

We absolutely love this place. The food, especially their fire grilled pizza, is delicious. I also highly recommend the artichoke dip, you will not be disappointed. The service is always prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is great. They oftentimes have live entertainment. But there is seating for everyone, which is amazing. Highly recommend you check this place out.

Food was ok, pricey but ok. We had reservations for NYE and we were looking forward to the comedian but he didn’t show, so there was a backup. The speaker system is poor we couldn’t hear him very well. Meanwhile on the other side of the dining area they had another comedian at the same time. We could hear him over our comedian. Our comedian even commented to keep the door closed. We had planned on ringing in the new year there but we left shortly after the comedy show along with a couple of other tables. The owner did stop over to see how things were. We were seated in the back with pizza stove as our view, yet there were open tables. We were not happy about our seating.
However we did go back a week later. Service was slow. We were seated and forgotten that we were there. They were not busy at all. The bar tender had to tell someone to come wait on us. We overheard them telling each other that they thought they waited on us.

• First time here but we’ll be back. Open less than a week, but they’ve got their act together. Limited menu: apps, soups & salads, a nice selection of wood-fired pizza, 5 entrees, dessert. One interesting note is that it is adults-only, no one under 18, which I like.
• Very well-designed interior. Booths, couches, bar, 4-season room with very comfortable chairs (and a patio in warmer weather). Large and friendly staff; no job shortages here. We had outstanding service from Lanie who was knowledgeable and accommodating . I like servers who can engage in conversation and be relaxed and natural, and she was.
• Charcuterie Board: “A seasonal gourmet selection of meats, cheeses, and accouterments.” Could easily serve four, but the two of us enjoyed every morsel. A nice variety and nicely-presented. To make it perfect, it should have at least one more type of cheese, a few more crackers, and fewer grapes.
• Truffle Mushroom Pizza: “Truffle roasted wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, arugula, goat cheese, mozzarella, oil.” A variety I haven’t had, but very good! Great flavors that work well together.
• I had a Two Hearted IPA, the only one on-tap that I like. Very few beers on-tap. They need a larger selection of Michigan craft beer. But they just opened so I’m sure this is something they will be working on. And they have a large selection of interesting cocktails. It’s possible their clientele is more oriented to cocktails than beer.

This is our new go to when in the Gun Lake area! Its a great place to come with friends, family or just a date night. Drinks are good- really enjoyed the Julies Old fashion and the martinis went down smooth! Fire roasted pizza really good but the beef short ribs were awesome! We also enjoyed watching pickle ball matches from the outside patio! To top it off the night they brought out marshmallows to roast on a flame- perfect touch for summer night!

I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Pizza and I was not let down, it was so yummy with the wood fire taste and the toppings… yummmmm. My husband ordered the Shrimp Penne… that was really good too, big shrimp and good flavor. As an appetizer we got Cajun shrimp dip with homemade pita chips (those were the bomb) most excellent. Will deff be back.

Our kids have VBS this week, since Thirsty Buddy is 18+ the hubby and I took the opportunity to have a date night. I got the Maui Wowie pizza and my husband got the Meat Lovers. For drinks I had the dragonberry mohito and my husband had a coffee martini. Our food and drinks both were really good. The restaurant is clean and the decor is upscale. Our server was nice and helpful, he checked on us enough but not too much which I like. Good food nice atmosphere.

This was our second time dining at Thirsty Buddies.
The service was great. The atmosphere was very clean and stylish. The chairs are very comfortable!
The The menu has been put together with much thought, unlike anything else you will get in the area. They have artisan cocktails, and a happy hour! I’m very satisfied with my experience and I cannot believe that this place is not packed right now!

Went on September 21st at 7pm. We were a party of 4. We sat on the patio it took a while for the waitress to get to us, but when she did we were informed it was her second day working and the only wait staff for the whole restaurant. She had two big groups plus us. We were patient with her. There were at least three other male employees who could of helped her but all stood around the bar talking. It took way too long for are food to come out we ended up taking are salads to go because we never got them. This young lady was working her butt off with no help from any one that is not the way to keep employees. The manager should of stepped up and helped out. This girl barely knew the menu and you had her working on a Saturday night. When we left the dining room was full. She was crying because she knew she wasn’t doing a good job I hope the male staff that stood at the bar feel real good about themselves.
