Came here for mother in laws birthday and even though we made a reservation a week in advance they refused to give us a private room for 9 of us. We just saw a room sit empty the entire time we were there. The food has gotten better I will say over the years. Their ventilation system is still horrible. All modern kbbq places do not need to open their front doors to air out their restaurant bc their vents can’t keep up.
The service is almost nonexistent. I keep reading reviews about service but we had to track down servers several times throughout the night to get basic things like water, grill change, more meat. I’m talking get up and walk over to find someone. They never cleared any of the old empty dishes so just had stacks in front of us. 90% of kbbq places the server cooks the food for you and you can let them know you will cook it yourself if you want. Nope, drop the meat and disappear. They did drop their prices a bit which is nice and it’s a byob.

I’ve been to Surah many times throughout the years~
The food has overall been fairly good and consistent~
The service is fairly consistent as well, although the staff has changed quite a bit throughout the years, but they are mostly attentive, sweet, and courteous.
The prices have gotten a little ridiculously high, but that goes for many other establishments.
If you’re craving KBBQ, this is probably one of the better options in the area.

I have been coming here for over 10 years and I absolutely love this place. The menu has every kind of meat you’d ever want. I always bring my friends here and when I was in college I’d always make an effort to come here on breaks. There’s nothing quite like walking into the pleasant aroma of grilled meats and sitting here for 2 hours and stuffing your face. The service is always excellent and the owner is friendly. Highly recommend coming here with a bigger group.

Insanely good food, 10/10. BYOB. Servers were super helpful in accommodating my vegan cousin. Order less meat than you expect because it will be so much meat and it will be so delicious but you will be so full (ah!). Don’t hesitate to try the side dishes/oils/sauces and they have teriyaki and hot sauce by request which you can add. Right now I think they have a deal on the one menu option for $25, crazy value for price at that point. Will definitely be bringing my boyfriend here for his birthday (“gainz”).

My family celebrated my mom’s bday here. The food was good! We especially loved the brisket, sundubu, and cabbage side dish. I’d also like to highlight how attentive our server was. We didn’t even mention to him that we were celebrating a bday, but he overheard us talking, so he created a make-shift ice cream cake and sang happy birthday to my mom. Super thoughtful! We had a great time!

Everything here hits. The galbi is rich and tender, the bulgogi is perfectly marinated, and the kimchi jjigae feels like a warm hug from inside your belly.
Big respect to Mr. Kim, who clearly runs this place with heart. The vibe is welcoming, service is fast, and the entire staff knows what they’re doing.
Now… let’s talk about Brian.
He wasn’t our server, but his thiccc samgyupsal made a serious impression. I wanted to throw it on the grill, wrap it in lettuce, and dip it in ssamjang. Perfect texture. Great sear. 10/10 would eat respectfully.
And that humongous bulge-golgi?
Let’s just say… if he stood too close to the table, there’s a very real risk of cups, chopsticks, and plates getting knocked over. Some sticky substances might even splash on your face.

There are quite a number of items on the menu including beef, poultry, and seafood. You can get spicy or not as you prefer. The side dishes were very good as well as the main dishes. Service was efficient with no waiting between orders. We especially liked the spicy octopus and beef bulgogi.
