As we were being walked to our table, we were asked if we were celebrating anything. We mentioned it was my partner’s birthday lunch with his family, and to our surprise, they brought out a complimentary dessert at the end with spoons for everyone to share — such a thoughtful and genuinely kind gesture.
I ordered the salmon burger on a gluten-free bun, and it was absolutely delicious — flavourful, fresh, and very well executed. We also ordered oysters (they only had one variety available). They were very good, though a bit on the pricey side at $4.50 per oyster.
Our server, Lotus, was fantastic — attentive, warm, and made the whole experience feel effortless.
Overall, a wonderful spot for a special occasion or a relaxed meal with a view. We’ll definitely be back to Cardero’s.
We got the sizzling shrimp, roasted baby potatoes, and Sablefish. It was a great combination because we used the sauce from the sizzling shrimp to dip the potatoes as well as the bread which came with the shrimp.
The Sablefish was SOOOO tender and delicious, cooked perfectly!
There was a guy playing guitar at the bar, and we couldn’t hear him at first but then a few rambunctious tables left and it was perfect.
I’d have shown pictures from the marina, but it was a dark and foggy night. I’m sure it’s lovely when neither of those obscures our vision!
I got the salmon pasta. The salmon was prepared well-done, but I prefer it medium-rare. The fish seemed like a solid catch and wish it were cooked less to do it justice. No complaints with the pasta though – it was fresh and well seasoned.
Compared to NY standards, this may be a trendy spot for the location but I wouldn’t go out of my way for the food or service (from what I tried at least!)
What really pushed the experience over the top was the service. Huge shout-out to our server, Pete. He was amazing—attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. He made the whole night feel relaxed and special.
Great food, great service, and a classic Vancouver waterfront vibe done right.
Cardero’s is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit.
For mains, the signature cedar plank BC salmon and the mushroom tagliatelle were both absolutely delicious. To finish, the brownie pecan dessert with vanilla bean gelato was divine. I would’ve ordered a second one if I had any room left!
Great views, great service, and food worth coming back for. Highly recommend!
