Thank you to Kilpatricks!!! We came for dinner not knowing food ended at 2pm on Thursdays. The owner stopped us as we were leaving and said to come back and he would cook for us!!! Best smash burgers in Hohenwald!

We had a YUMMY breakfast at the Tavern and Grill. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. She never let us run out of coffee, which I always appreciate. The food was REALLY good. Nice portions and cooked perfectly. The only ‘complaint,’ which isn’t really huge, was the atmosphere. Kind of disjointed and not really decorated. Honestly, I care most about the food and service, which was great, but if you are into the ‘looks’ of things…they could use a little updating.

We’ve been here a couple of times for breakfast but this was my first time for lunch. Seems my free time and their closed days seem to overlap. The breakfasts have been great. Had one of their “skillets” each time. Plenty of food and eggs cooked exactly like I asked. I often find that over medium eggs are a dicey request. They do well. Yesterday I had the club sandwich and some fresh fruit. The club was STUFFED so full, I had to turn my head so no one would witness me attempting to open my mouth that wide. Plenty of everything and even a slice of avocado. Not a melon fan of any sort so they kindly gave me fresh sliced strawberries and bananas. Being an iced tea aficionado, I was so happy to see that they served fresh brewed iced tea and not the fountain variety, which is a travesty to the palette. Will definitely be back to try the lunch buffet, which looked delightful, but way more than I wanted to eat. Large salad bar with plenty of fresh toppings. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays do give their waitstaff some much deserved time off. However, I understand the tavern side is open on those days.

Stopped in on a road trip to order food to go. The staff was very friendly and made sure the order was not only correct but that we also had plenty of condiments and flatware.
Patty melt was fantastic! The Brunch burger was cooked perfectly. Fried mushrooms were perfect. I would recommend any of these items. We Will be back!

Old tavern with pool tables EXCELLENT SERVICE. I ORDERED A CUSTOM BREAKFAST. PERFECT EGGS. FAIR PRICES FRESH COUNTRY VEGGIES AND PLATE LUNCHES. BREAKFAST BUFFET. GOOD MENU.CHILI &SANDWICH OR CHICKEN FRIED STEAK. CLEAN AND GREAT. INTERESTING AND GOOD FOR EVERYONE. SWEET PEOPLE. WEAK COFFEE SMALL TOWN HEART AVERAGE CITIZENS GATHER. INTERIOR LAYOUT MADE NO SENSE BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH STUFF. NO GREAT EVENING SEATING OR BAR. DARK. COULDNT SEE AT NOON UGLY LIGHTING I WOULD GO BACK FOR THE FOOD! Use open table seating instead of ugly booths. I enjoy natural and indirect light which it wasn’t. Lighting affects everyone. Great service smiles and courtesy. This location and history could be excellent with redecorating. Irish pubs denote comfy and fun.

Stopped tonight to have a beer and listen to music. 15 people in the building. 2 bartenders. We sat at the bar and was told to “wait” after helping the bartender open a mixer bottle seal, still no order. 15 min later regulars come in and get beer immediately. I was out. I have never left a negative review in my life. Have no problem with price or tipping at all. Just wanted a beer across the bar! Complete fail by staff. Couldn’t imagine if they were busy.

The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Clean inside and out. Waitress was polite. We both ordered burgers one a smash burger the other a BBQ neither one had a taste to it. The onion rings tasted like grease and over cooked. It took them almost an hour to cook our food and bring it to the table. There was only one family other than us in there. I’m not sure if it was a day that everything wasn’t going right for the staff or what happened but I won’t eat there again.

Tried this place for the first time on a Tuesday around 1:00. There were only 3 tables being occupied, and my party was one of them. The hostess/ waitress was apparently training. She wasn’t the worst I’ve dealt with. But considering how many customers were there it took almost 40 minutes to receive our food . The food was awful! I had a fisherman platter and all the food was so hard to eat. I had to scrape the fish out of the center My husband had a hamburger steak plate, and his food was hard to eat as well. My mother-in-law had the chicken strip plate. Her baked potato was smaller than a fist.They overly fry the food. The waitress was not very attentive, except to leave the bill. We spent almost $60, and I honestly think McDonald’s food would have been better! We won’t be back
