Me and my wife were searching for a good Chinese restaurant in Boise. Finally found one.
The owners are super sweet and friendly. Erica is such a sweet person, she helped us navigate thru the menu, suggested us the best dishes. Modified it as we liked and was super friendly with us.
We felt very warm and welcomed here.
About the food now:
Wonton soup- 10/10 absolute banger, if you know the flavor of the broth you will love it
Chicken Lowmein: Very close to Hakka noodles, loved it.
General Tso: very nice and super spicy chicken loved it
They pork dumplings are very good too

Went in while doing laundry next door cause the food smelled amazing. It was not. Ordered General Tso’s chicken cause I wanted spicy and this is basically a thick teriyaki sauce with something unsavory added to it. Got noodles instead of rice which was a $6 upcharge and they’ve got a flavor but not a good one. Boyfriend got egg foo young and it is burnt and honestly smells funky. Very much not impressed especially after spending $40 on take out.

I’m still in the hunt for some good Chinese food. So I have been making my way through the valley to find it! This joint is real close to my Brother in law’s job and had commented that they push out some pretty darn good fried rice. Word of mouth is the best kind of advertising so I’m taking his word and trying it out today. I’m going off of his fried rice recommendation so I’m hoping it’s going to be good.

I work downtown so it’s a close drive to get to this joint. I have passed this place for many years and never tried it out. I know there’s a cute panda sign up front but I honestly didn’t know what to expect. The building is older which is fine. Hella good food is pushed out of janky spots all the time. Walking in, this venue is tiny. It holds a good amount of tables. It could use some upkeeping and a little updating. It looks very run down, dirty. Janky is fine but it’s a turn off when it’s dirty looking.

Unfortunately I came too late for their lunch menu. I always find it the best way to be able to try a little of everything with lunch combo plates. After checking out the menu, I was excited to see that I could get a small bowl of hot and sour soup. I don’t have to commit to a large bowl. I also wanted mu shu tofu. I asked about the tofu and my server seemed confused about it. So, I went with the chicken to prevent any communication issues. I feel like tofu is a standard item in Chinese restaurants so it threw me off that she was confused that I wanted it as an option.

While I was waiting for my food, I worked on my hot tea. The pot could use a wipe down. It wasn’t the cleanest looking tea pot. My soup came out pretty quick. I had a feeling the soup was pre made since they offer it by the bowl. To be honest, I can tell I was going to be disappointed by the soup cause of the color. It was light, no chili flakes, no bamboo shoots. After taking a couple bites, I figured it was egg flower soup with extra soy for color. They added tofu which is normally in hot and sour. Man, what a disappointing bowl of soup. It was decent for what it was, egg flower but there was no heat and no acidity. They should not be calling that soup hot and sour.

The mu shu was dropped off and it looked promising. It was rich in color. There were nice pieces of chicken throughout the dish. The pancakes didn’t look like the normal pancakes that normally come with mu shu. They were thick, powdery and looked uncooked. But I was willing to give it a chance. I rolled up a fat roll with the pancake and mu shu. Added a nice amount of plum sauce and dove right in! Ya…. that pancake was not it. It tasted thick, raw and doughy. I removed everything in the middle and decided to eat the mu shu like a stir fry. I asked for a side of fried rice and ate a much as I could.

The chicken in the dish was tender. There was a good amount of veggies. The flavor was good. I would have liked more cabbage to the dish. The cabbage adds a nice crunchy element to the dish. Eating it with the rice was good but it would have been nice to have the full experience with the right pancakes.

I don’t see myself coming back. Service was not even basic, food was dropped off and never was checked up on. The soup was disappointing and misleading. The pancakes were criminal. And you’re charged 3.25 for half pot of tea. Mind blowing that you’re charged that much for tea and a half pot at that. Most Chinese joints use generic green tea, 50 bags to a box. I know, I served it for years. I can’t imagine how much you’re charged for soda. The mu shu was decent which gives this visit a 2 star but overall, this visit was not worth the 20 bucks I spent.

This is our absolute FAVORITE sushi spot in the valley! They are always super courteous, the portions are more than generous, the sushi is fresh and well packaged, and we look forward to every order. Thank you for taking such great care of our orders, and please tell your staff that we appreciate them greatly!

I’m very surprised, this place was super busy and the family was nice. I thought my food would be pretty good but far from it. I ordered Mongolian beef pork fried rice and an egg roll. The beef tastes like plastic it was drenched in some nasty sauce, the egg roll was still cold like it’s frozen and the rice was the only thing I managed to eat a little to fill myself up. Not sure why there’s so much business here.

Have eaten here for years and is always good. Wanted to give them a shout out tonight though for absolutely rocking the Christmas night rush! The number of orders coming in was chaos and they did great job managing those along with the large crowd of people there in person. Our order was only delayed by around 30mins and everything was correct! Thanks for being open!

We were pleasantly surprised about this restaurant. Everyone is extremely friendly and our server was the most bubbly and energetic young lady.
Food was delicious, the tempura sushi roll is my go to.
Sushi is made right there and super fresh.

Really nice family business. Excellent food.
Make sure to inventory your takeout orders. It’s teenagers working a lot of the time on their phones and it’s becoming a habit that they leave items I’ve paid for out of the bag.
Tipping makes no difference, the teen girl doesn’t check the order. The younger boy is very detail oriented but the older teen boy and girl– just check your order.
It’s 11 at night and I’m making rice while my food gets cold. I spent $32 and I’m incredibly annoyed. One time is a mistake. This is becoming standard. Not cool.
