We had a good dinner experience at Catina Captiva while staying at South Seas Resort. There was no wait when we went on a Friday evening. The inside is uniquely decorated and dollar bills line the walls and ceiling. The server came over immediately and took drink orders. The margaritas were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the mango margaritas. Complimentary chips and salsa were provided. We also ordered guacamole as an appetizer, and it was good but small for the price. We ordered a variety of entrees, including tacos, mini burritos, taco salad, and beef fajitas. Everything was delicious, but not spectacular – it was good for Mexican food, but not among the top that we’ve had. The taco salad and mini burritos were plain. The fajitas were the best entree of the ones ordered. In general, service was good and we had no complaints. This was a good spot for Mexican food in the area, and we would recommend it if you’re in the mood for Mexican food and great margaritas.

Cantina Captiva is an absolute gem and a must-stop when you’re on the island. The moment you walk in, the interior grabs your attention—walls covered in dollar bills give the place a fun, quirky, and authentic vibe that perfectly matches the laid-back island atmosphere.
The food is excellent, fresh, and full of flavor, with an authentic feel that makes it clear care goes into every dish.
The service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which really elevates the entire experience.
Great food, great service, and an authentic, one-of-a-kind interior—Cantina Captiva is a place you’ll definitely want to come back to.

Stopped for lunch after riding out bikes from Sanibel. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the food – chips and guacamole followed by chimichangas and fish tacos.
Cosy interior and lots of outdoor seating. It’s worth taking a dollar bill to staple to the wall!

Good Mexican restaurant similar to any other one. Nothing extraordinary but good food and friendly service. Unique interior design. Plenty of seating. Small bar with stools available. Place was clean. Lots of inside and patio seating.

Best authentic Mexican food. Fresh salsa, best fried fish tacos, and an atmosphere that is second to none. Super chill with excellent service. We cannot wait to go back.

Our family came here for dinner on our first night on Captiva Island. We got a fajita sandwich, two tacos, chicken fajitas and Mahi Mahi tacos. Everything was great and the atmosphere, along Main Street, was wonderful.

Enjoyed a burrito, service was very fast and this is one of those places people like to write a note on a dollar bill and post it. The portion wasn’t huge but the quality was great. Don’t be afraid of the price, reasonable for the area.

Will eat there again when I get a chance to go back. The salsa was fresh and very tasty. Not your typical salsa from a bottle. Had the fajitas which were scrumptious! Our waiter was incredibly kind as well.

We stopped here after leaving too late from Sanibel to get to the Bubble Room-which had a 2 hour wait. The reviews for here were pretty good, so we thought we’d try. There were 4 adults and 2 children. No one here was friendly – we sat outside at the picnic tables, which were dirty. The heaters were on, which was great since it had cooled off. My frozen margarita was basically a glass of ice with no flavor. It got spilled accidentally by one of us and landed on my granddaughter-in front of our server. He practicslky ran away from the table and didn’t help us clean up. He never asked if I wanted anything else to drink , which I would have paid for. The restaurant was out of fountain drinks. My daughters margarita was not good, and my other daughter had sangria, which she couldn’t drink because it tasted awful. The queso was good- my enchiladas were ok, the shrimp dish was good and my daughter’s tacos with corn tortillas were not warmed up and broke when she tried to eat them. Server never checked on us much. Very disappointed. I know it’s Christmas season and busy, but we expected a little better service. This is as the first time in years we tipped less then 20%.
